Depravity's Demise
''Depravity's Demise'' is the debut of melodic death metal band Solamors. The band recorded the album with Jon Star, former Lead Guitarist for Becoming the Archetype, which Vocalist Jason Wisdom and Guitarist/Bassist/Keyboardist Alex Kenis were also a part of. Critical reception Rob Houston of HM Magazine states:"If you are a fan of The Burial, Dream Theater, Animals As Leaders, Amon Amarth (or if you’re just missing Becoming the Archetype), you are going to be a very happy camper. This is a great end of the year release for the metal genre." Lee Brown of Indie Vision Music reports:"Although Becoming the Archetype have produced a pretty solid album with their new lead singer, there is something inside that just clamors for Jason Wisdom’s touch. If you feel that void in your life, Solamors is the answer. Composed of two of BTA’s former members (singer and guitarist), Solamors brings a sound that blends a heavy dose of ''Celestial Completion'' together with ''Dichotomy'' an ...

Celestial Completion
''Celestial Completion'' is the fourth studio album by the American heavy metal band Becoming the Archetype, released on March 29, 2011 through Solid State Records. Becoming the Archetype added some diversity and unusual elements to their sound on ''Celestial Completion''. The album features instruments and techniques that are not common for a metal band, including: trombones, sitars, tamburas, tablas, vocoders, an intro with "operatic soprano vocals and four-part harmony," and a recording of a Mass. In April 2010, when the group was only in the early stages of writing a new album, ''Celestial Completion'' was given the working title of ''In a Monstrous World of Half-Human Deities, Some People Will Unfortunately Die from Old Age''. Ryan Clark, art director for Solid State Records and vocalist for Demon Hunter, contacted Dan Seagrave to design the artwork for ''Celestial Completion''. Seagrave had previously designed the art for Becoming the Archetype's debut album ''Terminate ...

Amon Amarth
Amon Amarth () is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Tumba, formed in 1992. The band takes its name from the Sindarin name of Mount Doom, a volcano in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. Progressive Death Metal
Technical death metal (also referred to as tech-death) is a musical subgenre of death metal that began and developed in the early- to mid-1990s, with particular focus on challenging, demanding instrumental skill and complex songwriting. Technical experimentation in death metal began in the late 1980s and early 1990s by four bands that are often grouped together as "technical death metal's Big Four" – Death (metal band), Death, Pestilence (band), Pestilence, Atheist (band), Atheist, and Cynic (band), Cynic – as well as Nocturnus; all but Pestilence being part of the Florida death metal scene. Some of the distinct features of this genre include dynamic song structures, complex and atypical rhythmic structures, abundant use of diminished Chord (music), chords and arpeggios, frequent employment of Odd time signature, odd time chord progressions, and constant use of string skipping on the guitars. Bass lines are usually complex, and the drums are extremely fast-paced with abunda ...

Melodic Death Metal
Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. Pioneered by the English heavy metal band Carcass with their 1993 album ''Heartwork'', melodic death metal developed further in Sweden (developed by bands like At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, and In Flames) in the mid-1990s. The Swedish death metal scene did much to popularise the style, soon centering in the "Gothenburg metal" scene. At the Gates' ''Slaughter of the Soul'', Dark Tranquility's '' The Gallery'', and In Flames' ''The Jester Race'', all released in the mid-1990s, were highly influen ...
