Depo-Provera
Medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), also known as depot medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA) in injectable form and sold under the brand name Depo-Provera among others, is a hormonal medication of the progestin type. It is used as a method of birth control and as a part of menopausal hormone therapy. It is also used to treat endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, abnormal sexuality in males, and certain types of cancer. The medication is available both alone and in combination with an estrogen. It is taken by mouth, used under the tongue, or by injection into a muscle or fat. Common side effects include menstrual disturbances such as absence of periods, abdominal pain, and headaches. More serious side effects include bone loss, blood clots, allergic reactions, and liver problems. Use is not recommended during pregnancy as it may harm the baby. Wacław Tomasz Depo (born 27 September 1953) is a Polish Roman Catholic bishop, being the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Częstochowa since 2012. He was previously the bishop of the Diocese of Zamość-Lubaczów from 2006 to 2012. Biography Early life He was born on 27 September 1953 in Szydłowiec. In 1972 he graduated from high school, and then studied at the major seminary in Sandomierz. He was ordained a priest on June 3, 1978, in the Sandomierz Cathedral by bishop Piotr Gołębiowski, then the apostolic administrator of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sandomierz. He received a master's degree in dogmatic theology in 1980 at the Catholic University of Lublin. Depoe Bay is a city in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States, located on U.S. Route 101 on the Pacific Ocean. The population was 1,398 at the 2010 census. The bay of the same name is a harbor that the city promotes as the world's smallest navigable harbor. History Depoe Bay was named for Siletz Indian Charles "Charley" Depot who was originally allotted the land in 1894 as part of the Dawes Act of 1887. There are conflicting accounts of the origin of his name. One says he was given the name "Depot Charley" for working at the military depot near Toledo, Oregon. The family was later known as "DePoe". His original tribal affiliation was Tututni. In 1975, the fishing trip sequence in '' One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'' was filmed in Depoe Bay.
