''Department Q'' ( da, Afdeling Q) is a Danish Nordic noir film series, based on the crime novels by Danish author Jussi Adler-Olsen. Novels Originally written in Danish, the novels have been translated into numerous languages, including English, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Vietnamese. Despite using the same translations, the Penguin Group titled the first five novels differently in the UK and the USA. Their editions use the same English titles as the film adaptations. Peter Aalbæk Jensen
Peter Aalbæk Jensen (born 8 April 1956 in Osted) is a Danish film producer who in 1992 with director Lars von Trier founded the Danish film company Zentropa and later its huge studio complex Filmbyen. His father was writer Erik Aalbæk Jensen. Zentropa is known for the Dogme95-manifesto and such projects as ''Dogville'' (2003) starring Nicole Kidman, ''Dancer in the Dark'' (2000) starring Björk, ''The Five Obstructions'', and the Oscar-nominated '' After the Wedding'' (2006). Peter Aalbæk Jensen has executive-produced over 70 theatrical feature films and many television productions, has founded a long list of subsidiary companies and is widely regarded as the most important Danish film producer since the 1990s. Anders August
Anders Frithiof August (born 15 June 1978 in Copenhagen) is a Danish screenwriter, graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 2007. He wrote the short film '' The Pig'', that was nominated for an Oscar in 2009. In 2011 he won the Danish film- and television industry's biggest talent award, The Nordisk Film Award. He has written several episodes of Danish prime-time television as well as feature films, most notably '' Applause'', which won numerous awards for main actress Paprika Steen in 2010, and the 2012 Oscar short listed comedy '' SuperClásico''. The 2011 biopic ''A Funny Man'', was the biggest local box-office hit in Denmark in 2011. Nikolaj Arcel (born 25 August 1972) is a Danish filmmaker and screenwriter. Ole Christian Madsen (born 18 June 1966) is a Danish film director and script writer. Among his most successful projects are the movies ''Flame & Citron'', '' Prag'', '' Angels in Fast Motion'' ( da. Hans Petter Moland (born 17 October 1955) is a Norwegian film director. Moland was born in Oslo. He had received awards for his commercials at major festivals, including Cannes, before he made his feature debut in 1993 with '' The Last Lieutenant''.
