Denzil Ralph Evans (9 October 1915 – 20 February 1996) was an English association footballer. Born in Hungerford, Evans' first club was Yeovil & Petters United. He joined Football League club Bury on amateur terms in 1934, turning professional at the end of the 1934–35 season. After spending the 1936–37 season at Halifax Town, Evans joined Watford, where he would remain for the rest of his career. Denzil Peiris (15 March 1917 – 6 March 1985) was the editor of ''The Ceylon Observer'', published by Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited. Peiris was born on 15 March 1917, at Gampaha the eldest of a family of eight. He received his education at Nalanda College Colombo. His father died whilst he was still at school so he took a job with Lake House (now known as Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited) to support his family. Denzil Meyrick (born 28 November 1965) is a Scottish bestselling novelist. Prior to that, he served as a police officer with Strathclyde Police then a manager with Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Argyll. Since 2012 Denzil Meyrick has worked as a writer of Scottish crime fiction novels. He is also an executive director of media production company Houses of Steel. Pierre Denzil Meuli (22 September 1926 – 22 March 2019) was a writer, former newspaper editor, Roman Catholic priest of the Diocese of Auckland and a leading traditionalist Catholic in New Zealand. In 1969 Meuli was appointed editor of the newspaper, ''Zealandia'', by Archbishop Liston of Auckland in a controversial episode accompanying the profound changes to the Catholic Church in New Zealand engendered by the second Vatican Council.
