Dennis Streifel
Dennis William Streifel (born 8 December 1945) was a business agent and politician in British Columbia. He represented Mission-Kent in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1991 to 2001 as a British Columbia New Democratic Party, New Democratic Party (NDP) member. He worked for Safeway Inc., Canada Safeway and Weldwood of Canada before working with the United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 1518. Streifel served in the provincial cabinet as Minister of Fisheries, as Minister of Human Resources, as Minister of Social Services and as Minister of Forests. Streifel did not run for reelection in 2001. Maple Ridge-Mission
Maple Ridge-Mission is a provinces and territories of Canada, provincial electoral district (Canada), electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, Canada. The riding's name was resurrected from a former riding in the same area, with similar but not identical boundaries (see History section). Geography Redistribution Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows and Mission-Kent were created from Dewdney (electoral district), Dewdney during the 1989 redistribution. Whereas later in 2000, Mission-Kent and Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows were used to create Maple Ridge-Mission. Randy Clifford Hawes (born 1947) is a Canadian politician from British Columbia, and previously the mayor of Mission, British Columbia. Hawes was previously a Member of Legislative Assembly of British Columbia representing the provincial riding of Abbotsford-Mission. Hawes was first elected to the British Columbia Legislature in the 2001 provincial general election as the member for Maple Ridge-Mission, and was re-elected in 2005. He was re-elected to represent the new riding of Abbotsford-Mission in 2009. The New Democratic Party of British Columbia (BC NDP) is a social-democratic provincial political party in British Columbia, Canada. As of 2017, it governs the province. It is the British Columbia provincial arm of the federal New Democratic Party (NDP). The party previously governed from 1972 to 1975 and from 1991 to 2001.
