Denis O'Sullivan (golfer)
Denis O'Sullivan (born 11 March 1948) is a retired professional Irish golfer. He won the 1985 Irish Amateur Close and the 1990 Irish Amateur Stroke Play, but did not turn professional until 1997, when he decided to try to qualify for the European Seniors Tour. He came through the European Seniors Tour Qualifying School at his first attempt and became one of the tour's most consistent players. He has won six seniors events and finished in the top ten on the Order of Merit several times, with a best ranking of third in 2000. Cork (city)
Cork ( , from , meaning 'marsh') is the second largest city in Ireland and third largest city by population on the island of Ireland. Praia D'El Rey European Cup
The Praia d'El Rey European Cup was an annual professional golf tournament played at Praia d'El Rey, Portugal. It was played in 1997, 1998 and 1999 between teams of men representing the European Seniors Tour and ladies representing the Ladies European Tour. There was no handicap but the men and women played off different tees. The men won the first event 13–7 in 1997 and retained the cup in 1998 after a 10–10 tie. The ladies won the final event 11–9 in 1999. Tommy Horton and Marie-Laure de Lorenzi were the captains on each occasion. 1977 European Amateur Team Championship
The 1977 European Amateur Team Championship took place 22–26 June at Royal The Hague Golf & Country Club in Wassenaar, Netherlands. It was the tenth men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The course, situated in an undulating dune landscape in Wassenaar, 10 kilometres north of the city center of The Hague, Netherlands, was designed in 1938, by Harry Colt and C.H. Alison. The championship course was set up with par 72. Format Each team consisted of 6 players, playing two rounds of stroke-play over two days, counting the five best scores each day for each team. The European Amateur Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for men organised by the European Golf Association which was introduced in 1959. The championship was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format 1959–1965 Each team consisted of a minimum of six players, playing two rounds of stroke play, counting the four best scores for each team.
