Deng Deng (basketball, Born 1976)
Deng Angok Deng (born 5 January 1992) is a South Sudanese-Australian professional basketball player who last played for the Illawarra Hawks of the National Basketball League (NBL). He also plays for the South Sudan national team. Deng played three seasons of college basketball in the United States, two with Lee College and one with Baylor. He has played professionally in the NBA Development League, Qatar, Lebanon, Finland, Poland and Australia. He debuted in the NBL in 2018 with the Sydney Kings. He played for the Illawarra Hawks in 2020–21 and then the Brisbane Bullets in 2021–22. Early life Deng was born in Sudan. He moved to Egypt at age four and then Australia at age nine. South Sudan Men's National Basketball Team
The South Sudan national basketball team is the national basketball team representing South Sudan. Its official name is South Sudan Basketball Federation. It was established in May 2011, and became a member of FIBA in December 2013. They are nicknamed the Bright Stars. New Zealand Breakers
The New Zealand Breakers (also known as the Sky Sport Breakers for sponsorship reasons) are a New Zealand professional basketball team based in Auckland. The Breakers compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at multiple venues, mainly Spark Arena. The team was founded in 2003 by three Waikato businessmen, Dallas Fisher, Michael Redman and Keith Ward, and remains the only team in the league to compete from New Zealand. 2018–19 NBL Season
The 2018–19 NBL season was the 41st season of the National Basketball League since its establishment in 1979. A total of eight teams have contested the league. The regular season had been played between October 2018 and February 2019, followed by a post-season featuring the top four in March 2019.
