Democratic Front Of The Central African People
The Democratic Front of the Central African People (french: Front démocratique du peuple centrafricain; FDPC) is an anti-government militia in the Central African Republic. It is one of the major combatants in the Central African Republic Bush War and a member of the Séléka CPSK-CPJP-UFDR group that overthrew the national government in March 2013. The FDPC signed a ceasefire with the government on February 2, 2007. This agreement was known as the Syrte Agreement, after the Libyan city where it was signed. It was the earliest of the ceasefires that the government signed individually with each of the three major militias, bringing a temporary peace to the country. It controlled a small pocket between Kabo and Moyenne-Sido. After falling out with Séléka, FDPC leader Abdoulaye Miskine fled across the border into Cameroon and was arrested there in 2013. Abdoulaye Miskine
Abdoulaye Miskine (born 5 October 1965) is a Chadian-Central African warlord and a former FACA officer who served under Patasse Government. He was the leader of Democratic Front of the Central African People. Early life Miskine was born on 5 October 1965 in Ndinaba, Chad with the original name of Martin Koutamadji. His father was Chadian and his mother was Central African. He was raised in Central African Republic by his mother since his father died when he was a child. At the age of 18 years old, he moved to Nigeria and converted to Islam under the name of Miskine. Military career He joined FACA in an unknown year. After a failed coup attempt in 2001, Patasse put Miskine in charge of leading a special militia unit consisting of 300 Chadian mercenaries due distrust with Bozize and the refusal of Idriss Déby to send reinforcements. Am Dafok
Am Dafok is a village in the Vakaga prefecture of Central African Republic (CAR). The town sits on the CAR side of the border with Sudan; on the Sudanese side of the border is the state of South Darfur. According to the 2003 census Am Dafok has a population of 2,915. The Central African Republic Bush War was a civil war in the Central African Republic between Union of Democratic Forces for Unity (UFDR) rebels and government forces. The rebellion began after François Bozizé seized the nation's presidency in 2003. Actual fighting began in 2004. Around 10,000 people were displaced because of the civil unrest. Séléka CPSK-CPJP-UFDR was an alliance of rebel militia groups that subjugated the Central African Republic (CAR) on 24 March 2013. Kabo is a town in the northern Central African Republic, lying north west of Kaga Bandoro. It is a market town and the border post for Chad. History The northern nomads in the Central African Republic resented the central government and a rebel People's Army for the Restoration of the Republic and Democracy (PAPRD) was formed in the 1990s. Clashes between the rebels and the central government intensified, and many people from Kabo and the surrounding area fled as refugees to Chad.
