''Demented'' is a 1980 American rape and revenge horror film directed by Arthur Jeffreys and starring Sallee Young and Harry Reems. Plot The plot involves a woman who, having been raped by a gang of men and institutionalized, suffers nightmares while under the care of her unfaithful husband, and takes a violent revenge when a group of teenage youths decide to play a prank on her. Alex Rebar
Alexander John Rebar (July 9, 1940 – November 19, 2021) was an American producer, writer and actor. He was most known for starring in the cult film ''The Incredible Melting Man'' as well as writing and producing films such as '' Beyond the Door'', '' Demented'', ''To All a Goodnight'', and '' Nowhere to Hide''. Life and career He was born in Dallas, Pennsylvania on a farm where he rode horses. He attended Valley Forge Military Academy and Wilkes College before enlisting in the Navy as a Photographers Mate. After serving in the Korean War he moved to Paris where he co-founded and acted with the Studio Theater of Paris and managed a jazz club. In Rome, Rebar worked for Production Cinitalia Edizone doing voice dubbing for Marcello Mastroianni, Klaus Kinski and the Italian Mighty Mouse. Harry Reems
Herbert John Streicher (August 27, 1947 – March 19, 2013), better known by his professional pseudonym Harry Reems, was an American pornographic actor and later a successful real estate agent. His most famous roles were as Doctor Young in the 1972 pornographic cult classic '' Deep Throat'' and The Teacher in the 1973 classic ''The Devil in Miss Jones''. Throughout the 1970s and into the mid-1980s, he was one of the most prolific performers in the adult film industry. He became the first American actor to be prosecuted solely for appearing in a film. Rape and revenge films are a subgenre of exploitation film that was particularly popular in the 1970s, but attracted controversy as a target of extreme cinema. Explanation of the subgenre Rape and revenge films generally follow the same three-act structure: * Act I: The character is (violently) raped and maybe further abused, tortured or left for dead. * Act II: The character survives and may rehabilitate themselves. * Act III: The character exacts revenge and/or kills their rapist(s). In Gaspar Noé's 2002 film ''Irréversible'', the structure was reversed, with the first act depicting the revenge before tracing back the events which led to that point.
