The unincorporated communities of London and Old Deerfield are located in the town. History The town was named for the great number of deer in the surrounding fields. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 34.5 square miles (89.3 km2), of which, 34.3 square miles (88.9 km2) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.4 km2) of it (0.44%) is water.
