Deepika Kumari (field Hockey)
Deepika Kumari (born 6 December 2003) is a field hockey player and member of Indian women's hockey team. She hails from Hisar, Haryana. She plays for Indian Oil Corporation Limited in the domestic hockey tournaments. She has ten caps as a Senior India player. She plays as a forward and specialises in drag-flicks. Early life Deepika Kumari started as wrestler and used to practice along with her brother. One day in 2012, on way to wrestling practice she picked up a hockey stick for fun and soon it became her mainstay. Hockey career Deepika made her Junior debut for the country in 2018 at the Youth Olympic Qualifiers in March 2018. Later she also took part in the Hockey women's Junior World Cup 2021 in Potchefstroom, South Africa and was part of the Indian team that won gold at the Women's Junior Asia Cup. Hisar District
Hisar district is one of the 22 districts of Haryana, India. Hisar city serves as the district headquarters. Hisar district has four sub-divisions that is, Hisar, Barwala, Hansi and Narnaud, each headed by an SDM. The district is also part of Hisar division. Hisar was founded by Firuz Shah Tughlaq. The largest district in Haryana until its 1966 reorganization, some parts of Hisar were transferred to the newly created Jind district. In 1974, Tehsil Bhiwani and Loharu were transferred to Bhiwani district. Hisar was further bifurcated when Sirsa district was formed. Fatehabad district was later created as well. Women's FIH Pro League
The Women's FIH Pro League is an international women's field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), which replaces the Women's FIH Hockey World League. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the Hockey World Cup and the Olympic Games. The first edition was started in 2019. Nine teams secured their places for four years. Format Nine teams will compete in a round-robin tournament with home and away matches, played from January to June, with the top four teams advancing to the grand final at a pre-determined location.
