Dee Johnson (TV Producer)
Dee Johnson is an American television producer and writer. She has worked on the series '' ER'', ''Melrose Place'', '' Commander in Chief'', ''Southland'', ''The Good Wife'' and was an executive producer and showrunner on ''Nashville'' for seasons one through four, exiting after the fourth season. Life and career Johnson began her career as a writer in Fox primetime soap opera ''Melrose Place''. She was one of the major writers of ''Melrose Place'' from 1993 to 1995. She was writer of 19 episodes on '' ER'', and also worked in show as co-executive producer. In 2005, Johnson was nominated for Humanitas Prize Award for ''ER''. ''Nashville'' is an American musical soap opera television series. It was created by Callie Khouri and produced by R. J. Cutler, Khouri, Dee Johnson, and Steve Buchanan through season four, Connie Britton through season five, and Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick from season five on. The series chronicles the lives of various fictitious country music singers in Nashville, Tennessee, starring Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, a legendary country music superstar, whose stardom begins fading, and Hayden Panettiere as rising younger star Juliette Barnes. Britton left the show in season five. The series premiered on ABC, on October 10, 2012, and had more than 8.93million viewers. In May 2016, ABC cancelled the show. ''Boss'' is an American political drama television serial created by Farhad Safinia. The series stars Kelsey Grammer as Tom Kane, the mayor of Chicago, who has recently been diagnosed with Lewy body dementia, a degenerative neurological disorder. The series was broadcast in the United States on the premium television service Starz and was produced by Category 5 Entertainment, Grammnet Productions and Lionsgate Television. On September 27, 2011, before the series premiered, Starz announced that ''Boss'' had been renewed for a second season of ten episodes. A showrunner (or colloquially a helmer) is the top-level executive producer of a television series production who has creative and management authority through combining the responsibilities of employer and, in comedy or dramas, typically also the head writer, script and story editor.
