''Dedicated'' is the most recent studio album by pop music, pop group Wilson Phillips, released in 2012. The release is made up of cover versions from the band members' parents groups, The Beach Boys and The Mamas & The Papas and was released for Wilson Phillips' 20th anniversary. Reception Editors of AllMusic Guide rated this release two out of five stars, with critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine writing that the release "contains plenty of faithful, loving versions of songs by the Beach Boys and Mamas & Papas that you know by heart" with a "sweet, clean treatment by Wilson Phillips, whose signature harmonies shine in this pristine setting", but characterizes the music as "comfort food" where "there are no real surprises here, either in attitude or arrangement". In ''Entertainment Weekly'', Mikael Wood rated the album a C, calling it a "ho-hum tribute", and pointing out that the cover of "Good Vibrations" is a stand-out. Wilson Phillips
Wilson Phillips is an American pop group formed in Los Angeles in 1989. The group consists of Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson, the daughters of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, and Chynna Phillips, the daughter of John and Michelle Phillips of the Mamas & the Papas. Their 1990 eponymous debut album sold over 10 million copies worldwide and included five major US hit singles, four of which went Top 10 (three of those to number one) on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Eleanor Louise Greenwich (October 23, 1940 – August 26, 2009) was an American pop music singer, songwriter, and record producer. Roger Christian (July 3, 1934 – July 11, 1991) was an American radio personality and songwriter from Buffalo, New York. After moving to California in 1959, he became a lyricist for the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson. From the early to mid-1960s, they wrote many songs together, mostly about cars, including the singles "Little Deuce Coupe" (1963), " Shut Down" (1963), and " Don’t Worry Baby" (1964). Biography Christian was born in Buffalo, New York, United States. Roger Christian began his radio career in Rochester, New York at WSAY and later worked in Buffalo under the name Mike Melody. "Don't Worry Baby" is a song by American rock band the Beach Boys from their March 1964 album '' Shut Down Volume 2''. Written by Brian Wilson and Roger Christian, Wilson's lead vocal on the track is considered one of his defining performances, and he later referred to "Don't Worry Baby" as perhaps the Beach Boys' finest record. It was issued in May 1964 as the B-side of "I Get Around", and charted separately at number 24. Deriving from Wilson's obsession with the Ronettes' 1963 hit " Be My Baby", "Don't Worry Baby" has a similar musical structure, but different subject matter and production approach. The lyrics portray a braggadocian man who agrees to a drag race, much to his regret, and is subsequently consoled by his girlfriend with the song's title phrase.
