''Decade'' is a greatest hits album by Duran Duran, released on 15 November 1989.Chic - Page 10 In 1985 Rodgers produced albums for Sheena Easton, Jeff Beck, The Thompson Twins, Mick Jagger, and many others, ... with releases by the Dan Reed Network, Slam, and Duran Duran's compilation, Decade, which was appropriately titled. The remix single " Burning the Ground" was released to radio to promote this album. It was created by producer John Jones by mixing snippets of the band's biggest hits from the previous decade into a new piece of music. However, the track was not included on the ''Decade'' album itself. The tracks " My Own Way" and " New Moon on Monday" were also not included, even though both were top 20 hits in the UK. ''Decades track listing included various hits from all of Duran Duran's albums and presented them in mixes that were popular and mainstream among the public. Duran Duran () are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Birmingham in 1978 by singer and bassist Stephen Duffy, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and guitarist/bassist John Taylor (bass guitarist), John Taylor. With the addition of drummer Roger Taylor (Duran Duran drummer), Roger Taylor the following year the band went through numerous personnel changes before May 1980, when they settled on their most famous line-up by adding guitarist Andy Taylor (guitarist), Andy Taylor and lead vocalist Simon Le Bon. When Duran Duran emerged they were generally considered part of the New Romantic scene. Innovators of the music video, Duran Duran were catapulted into the mainstream with the introduction of the 24-hour music channel MTV. The group was a leading band in the MTV-driven Second British Invasion of the US in the 1980s. Omnibus Press is a publisher of music-related books. It publishes around 30 new titles a year to add to a backlist of over 250 titles currently in print. ''Duran Duran'' is the debut studio album by the English new wave band Duran Duran, which was released on 15June 1981 by EMI. After signing a record contract, the band recorded the album at several London studios between December 1980 and January 1981, with production by Colin Thurston. Although the instrumental tracks were recorded quickly, singer Simon Le Bon initially struggled to sing in the studio; this led to discussions about replacing him before EMI employee Dave Ambrose intervened. The band were influenced at this time by a variety of artists, including David Bowie, the Human League, Ultravox, Roxy Music, Japan and Chic. "Planet Earth" is the debut single by the British pop rock band Duran Duran, released on 2 February 1981. It was an immediate hit in the band's native UK, reaching #12 on the UK Singles Chart on 21 February, and did even better in Australia, hitting #8 to become Duran Duran's first Top 10 hit anywhere in the world. The song later appeared on the band's eponymous debut album ''Duran Duran'', released in June 1981. About the song "Planet Earth" begins with a mid-tempo synthesised sweep backed with sequenced electronic rhythm, but the real rhythm section of throbbing bass and crisp drums soon kick in. Muted guitar carries the up-and-down throbbing as the singer joins in. The sequenced part on this song is a Prophet-5 synth, while a Roland Jupiter-4 and a Crumar Performer were used for strings and other sounds. My Own Way (song)
"My Own Way" is the fourth single by Duran Duran, originally released as a single on 16 November 1981. The single was designed as a stop-gap release to capitalise on the Top 5 success of the band's previous single, "Girls on Film", but prior to the recording and release of the band's second album ''Rio'' (which was recorded in the early months of 1982). "My Own Way" was another hit, peaking at #14 on the UK Singles Chart. It peaked at #10 in Australia. Despite its success, the single has often been cited by the band as one of their least favourite and is rarely played live. Keyboardist Nick Rhodes has expressed astonishment that "My Own Way" performed better than 1987's " Skin Trade", which ended the band's record of twelve consecutive Top 20 hits in the UK.
