James Murphy (electronic Musician)
James Jeremiah Murphy (born February 4, 1970) is an American musician, DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer. His most well-known musical project is LCD Soundsystem, which first gained attention with its single "Losing My Edge" in 2002 before releasing its eponymous debut album in February 2005 to critical acclaim and top 20 success in the UK. LCD Soundsystem's second and third studio albums, ''Sound of Silver'' (2007) and '' This Is Happening'' (2010) respectively, were met with universal acclaim from several music review outlets. Both albums have also reached the top 50 in the ''Billboard'' 200. LCD Soundsystem was named one of ''Rolling Stone''’s New Immortals—"currently active (or relatively recently defunct) artists who heythink will stand the test of time." DFA Records
DFA Records is an American independent record label founded in 2001 by Mo' Wax co-founder Tim Goldsworthy, musician James Murphy, and manager Jonathan Galkin. They previously had a production team called The DFA, consisting of Goldsworthy and Murphy. History James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy met while working in New York on the David Holmes album '' Let's Get Killed''. After the recording was completed, Goldsworthy stayed in New York, and the two began to throw parties in the Lower East Side. They created the production duo, The DFA, but wished to grow The DFA into more than what it was. It was not until they met Jonathan Galkin, who subsequently quit his event-production job to work with James and Tim, that they turned DFA into a label. Death from Above 1979 (also known as Death from Above) is a Canadian rock duo consisting of bassist Jesse F. Keeler and drummer and vocalist Sebastien Grainger from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2001. The band released their debut album, ''You're a Woman, I'm a Machine'', in 2004 and broke up in 2006. They reformed in 2011 and released their second album, ''The Physical World'', in 2014. "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death from Above" is the first international single by Brazilian band CSS, taken from their debut studio album, ''Cansei de Ser Sexy''. Background and release The title is a reference to Canadian band Death from Above. The song's video was directed by Cat Solen and the track was later commercially released in several formats. It reached number 39 on the UK Singles Chart after it was re-issued in May 2007. "Tarantula" is a song by The Smashing Pumpkins. It is the first single from their seventh album, ''Zeitgeist'', and their first release since their 2006 reunion. Release and structure Billy Corgan mentioned during a concert of June 5 in Berlin that "Tarantula" was titled in honor of the German rock band Scorpions, with whom Corgan had recently collaborated on the Scorpions song "The Cross". The intro and the outro of the song are inspired by the song "Dark Lady" of Scorpions, while Corgan stated that he wrote the solo of the song thinking how Uli Jon Roth could have played it. Corgan and Chamberlin believe the song is a culmination of music they've been listening to all their lives, specifically the Scorpions and UFO. ''To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere'' is the ninth studio album by American rock band Thrice. The album was released on May 27, 2016, through Vagrant Records. ''To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere'' is Thrice's first release after a four-year hiatus that lasted from mid-2012 to mid-2015, and the band's first album of original material in five years since 2011's ''Major/Minor''. The 7th Bomb Wing (7 BW) is a United States Air Force unit assigned to the Global Strike Command Eighth Air Force. It is stationed at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, where it is also the host unit. The 7 BW is one of only two B-1B Lancer strategic bombardment wings in the United States Air Force, the other being the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota.
