Death Steps In The Dark
''Death Steps in the Dark'' ( it, Passi di morte perduti nel buio, which translates as ''Death Steps Lost in the Dark'') is a 1977 Italian-Greek giallo film directed by Maurizio Pradeaux. Pradeaux directed only one other giallo, the 1973 ''Death Carries a Cane''. Plot Italian reporter Luciano Morelli (Leonard Mann) is taking an express train to Greece from Istanbul with his girlfriend, Swedish up and coming model Ingrid Stelmossen. Several other passengers are in their car, including a Lebanese man, a Greek socialite woman, a Turkish priest, and a nervous young French woman. One passenger goes to the lavatory to clip some wires for the lighting in their car, leaving their black gloves behind. As the train goes into a darkened tunnel, a scream is heard, and once light comes through again, the young nervous woman is seen murdered. Luciano's letter opener is lodged in her heart. Maurizio Pradeaux
Maurizio Pradeaux (16 April 1931 – 1 July 2022) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He began his career as a production assistant, working with . '' Ramon the Mexican'', a western, which was released in 1967, was his debut as a film director. He wrote the screenplays for all the films he directed. Many fell into the category known in Italian as ''giallo'' ('yellow'), which defines a style of mystery and detective fiction and films. Leonard Mann (actor)
Leonardo Manzella (born March 1, 1947), best known as Leonard Mann, is an American social worker, writer, and former actor. He played numerous leading roles in Italian genre films between 1969 and 1989, especially in Spaghetti westerns and ''poliziotteschi''. He was discovered by producer Manolo Bolognini as he was walking along Via Veneto and Bolognini, impressed by his face that reminded him of Franco Nero and Terence Hill, immediately put him on the screen, launching his career with the leading role of Sebastian in ''The Forgotten Pistolero''. Since retiring from showbusiness in 1989, he has worked as a social worker and therapist for the Los Angeles Unified School District in addition to a private practice San Luis Obispo. ''Death Carries a Cane'' (Italian title: ''Passi di danza su una lama di rasoio''/ ''Dance Steps on the Edge of a Razor''), is a 1973 Italian giallo film directed by Maurizio Pradeaux. It starred Robert Hoffmann, Nieves Navarro and Luciano Rossi. The film was later released on video as ''The Tormentor'', ''Maniac at Large'', ''The Night of the Rolling Heads'' and ''Devil Blade''.
