Death Note (2017 Film)
''Death Note'' is a 2017 American supernatural crime thriller film loosely adapted from the Japanese manga of the same name created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The film is directed by Adam Wingard and written by Charles and Vlas Parlapanides, and Jeremy Slater. The film stars Nat Wolff, LaKeith Stanfield, Margaret Qualley, Shea Whigham, Paul Nakauchi, Jason Liles, and Willem Dafoe, and follows the story of an American high school student named Light Turner (portrayed by Wolff) who finds a mysterious supernatural notebook known as the Death Note, which can kill anyone whose name is written in its pages, using it to murder criminals under the alias of Kira, while a secretive detective only known as L (portrayed by Stanfield) seeks to find him. Adam Wingard
Adam Wingard ( ; born December 3, 1982) is an American filmmaker. He has served as a director, producer, screenwriter, editor, cinematographer, actor, and composer on numerous projects. Following an early career as a member of the mumblecore movement, he became notable for his works in the horror and action genres, especially the films ''You're Next'' (2011), and '' The Guest'' (2014), and the bigger budget franchise films ''Blair Witch'' (2016), '' Death Note'' (2017), and '' Godzilla vs. Kong'' (2021). Life and career Wingard was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and graduated from Full Sail University in 2002. Leopold "Leo" Ross is an English musician, record producer, recording engineer and music programmer. Leopold is a guitarist in LA based band Io Echo. Career Leopold was a founding member of eclectic rock band Nojahoda who released one album on Sony S2 Records in 1999. In 2003 he joined his brother Atticus Ross, as well as Bad Religion member Brett Gurewitz in the punk/hardcore band Error. FrightFest, also known as Arrow Video FrightFest is an annual film festival held in London and Glasgow.
