Dean Sensanbaugher
Dean Sparks Sensanbaugher ( – ) was a professional American football halfback (American football), halfback and defensive back who played two seasons for the Cleveland Browns and New York Yanks, New York Bulldogs in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and National Football League (NFL) in the late 1940s. Sensanbaugher grew up in Ohio. Parents Ted and Glenna Sparks Sensanbaugher. Attended Ohio State University. He played football there under head coach Paul Brown in 1943, but left the following year to serve in the United States Army, U.S. Army during World War II. He transferred to the United States Military Academy and played for an Army Black Knights football team that won all of its games in 1944 and finished first in the AP Poll. Halfback (American Football)
A halfback (HB) is an offensive position in American football, whose duties involve lining up in the offensive backfield and carrying the ball on most rushing plays, i.e. a running back. When the principal ball carrier lines up deep in the backfield, and especially when that player is placed behind another player (usually a blocking back), as in the I formation, that player is instead referred to as a tailback.
