Dead Bees Records
Dead Bees Records is a French independent record label, with a roster of indie rock artists and bands. History Dead Bees Records was started in 2003 by two Toulouse-based musicians, Seb Wood (from Call Me Loretta) and Seb Duclos (from the Nova Express, Fuck Buddies), under the terms of an unincorporated association. The label was named after a quote from the Howard Hawks movie ''To Have and Have Not'': "Was you ever bit by a dead bee?". The label was initially intended to release the debut recordings by Call Me Loretta or the Nova Express, but soon expanded its scope by importing or promoting international acts. Dead Bees was the first French label to work with Bomp! Records, The Committee to Keep Music Evil and Celluloid Dreams to bring the Brian Jonestown Massacre to French audiences. Dead Horse One
Dead Horse One are a neo-psychedelic/shoegaze band based in Valence, France. The band was founded in 2011 by Olivier Debard, Ludovik Naud, Antoine Pinet (a former member of French band H-Burns ) and Jérôme Simonian. Simonian later departed, and Maxime Garcia and Ivan Tziboulsky joined. The band has performed at the 2013 Liverpool Psych Fest and have shared stages with the Telescopes, the Wands and Sound Sweet Sound. History Following an eponymous, self-released 2012 EP, the band issued the ''Heavenly Choir of Jet Engines'' EP on Cranes Records later that year, as well as a split 10" EP with the Dead Mantra. In 2012, Dead Horse One joined the Dead Bees Records roster and was featured on the label's 11th and 12th sampler compilations. Soltero (musician)
Soltero is the musical project of songwriter Tim Howard. Howard started performing as Soltero while living in Boston. He currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. Production history Howard started playing music while attending Wesleyan as a film major in the late 1990s. Soltero has had several incarnations, including a five-piece band (with trumpet and Rhodes piano) and a four-piece band, as well as solo and duo acoustic lineups. The first full-length Soltero album, entitled ''Science Will Figure You Out'', was recorded with members of the Mobius Band and self-released in August 2001. April 2003 saw the release of ''Defrocked and Kicking the Habit'' on Handsome Records. The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American musical project and band led and started by Anton Newcombe. It was formed in San Francisco in 1990. The group was the subject of the 2004 documentary film called '' Dig!'', and have gained media notoriety for their tumultuous working relationships as well as the erratic behavior of Newcombe. The collective has released 18 albums, five compilation albums, five live albums, 13 EPs, 18 singles as well as two various-artist compilation albums to date. The bandname is a ''portmanteau'' of deceased Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones and the 1978 Jonestown Massacre. Blitzen Trapper is a Portland, Oregon-based experimental country music, country/Folk music, folk/Rock and roll, rock band associated with Sub Pop Records, Vagrant Records and Lojinx.
