Andrés De La Concha
Andrés de Concha was a Spanish Painting, painter who is considered one of the best painters of the Viceroyalty of New Spain. De la Concha was born in Seville and came to the New World in 1568. He was an active painter from 1575 to 1612 and his work is preserved in several Mexico, Mexican cathedrals, including the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral. Artwork In 1587 the Sevillian artist Andrés de Concha, who also created retablos for the grand Oaxacan missions of Yanhuitlan, Coixtlahuaca and Teposcolula, entered into a contract with the town of Tamazulapan to fabricate and decorate a main retablo for the new church, at the then princely sum of 2000 pesos. Little now survives of the 16th-century altarpiece. As at Yanhuitlan and Coixtlahuaca, the original retablo was later enlarged and reframed, at Tamazulapan in a rich baroque style replete with intricately carved spiral columns and decorative shell niches containing many new paintings and sculptures. Félix de la Concha (born 1962) is a painter. Born in León, Spain, he resides in Pittsburgh and Madrid. In 1985 he was selected to participate in the Primera Muestra de Arte Joven (Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid) where his work was awarded. Since then he has had several shows, mainly in Europe and the United States, including one person exhibitions in the Columbus Museum of Art (1998), Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh (1999), Hood Museum of Art (2009), the Frick Art & Historical Center (2004), Museo de Bellas Artes in Santander (1995), Museo del Chopo, México D.F. Fernando De La Concha
Fernando de la Concha was the Governor of New Mexico between 1789 and 1794. Biography Fernando de la Concha joined the Spanish Army in his youth, eventually becoming a Colonel. De la Concha was appointed Governor of Santa Fe de Nuevo México in 1789. In 1792 (and following orders of the viceroy Revillagigedo) Concha sent explorers Pedro Vial, Vicente Villanueva, and Vicente Espinosa to Saint Louis to establish a trade route. Juan de la Concha Castañeda (1818–1903) was a Spanish lawyer and politician. He served as the minister of finance between 23 November 1891 and 11 December 1892 and governor of the Bank of Spain between January 1900 and April 1901. Early life and education Concha was born in Plasencia on 29 August 1818. He studied Latin and philosophy at the Conciliar Seminary of Plasencia. He studied law at the University of Salamanca, but not completed his studies there. He graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1841 receiving a degree in law. Career and activities Following his graduation Concha worked as lawyer until 1844 when his public career began. María Asunción Jacoba Pía de la Concha García-Mauriño, known as Mae de la Concha (born 25 July 1954), is a Spanish bookseller and politician. She was regional minister of agriculture, fisheries and food of the government of the Balearic Islands. She was a member of Congress of Deputies from 2016 to 2019. Manuel Gutiérrez de la Concha e Irigoyen, Marquis of the Duero, was a 19th-century Spanish military man and Liberal- Moderate politician, noted for opposing the Carlist rebellions. He was born in Córdoba del Tucumán, Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata (now Córdoba, Argentina), on 3 April 1808, and died at Monte Muro, Navarre, on 27 June 1874. Manuel de Jesús María Ulpiano Troncoso de la Concha (April 3, 1878 – May 30, 1955) was an intellectual and President of the Dominican Republic from 1940 until 1942, as a puppet of dictator Rafael Trujillo. Prior to ascending to the Presidency, he was Vice-President from 1938 to 1940. His term began upon the death of President Jacinto Peynado. He also served in 1911 during the reign of the Council of Secretaries. Rafael Macedo de la Concha (born May 6, 1950 in Mexico City) is a Mexican army general and former Attorney General in the cabinet of Vicente Fox (December 1, 2000 РApril 27, 2005).
