Club career Early career De Groot started his football career with amateur side UNIO in Oudewater, near his native town Gouda. De Groot is a 31-time major champion, having won 16 titles in singles, and 15 titles in doubles. Theodore Cornelius de Groot (December 15, 1920 – July 20, 2019), better known as Dick de Groot, was a Dutch-American painter. He was born in Scheveningen, a beach suburb of The Hague in the Netherlands, in 1920. After the usual schooling that prepared him for the business world he decided to follow his old dream of being a painter. He studied five years at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and took post-graduate classes in sculpture. In 1959 de Groot came to America with his wife Hans and five children. He started painting gigantic faces, foaming glasses of beer and entire scenes up to long, for the advertising industry. Daniël ("Daan") de Groot (25 May 1933 – 8 January 1982) was a road bicycle and track cyclist from the Netherlands, who represented his native country at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. In the 1952 Olympics, De Groot was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the men's 4,000 m team pursuit, alongside Adrie Voorting, Jan Plantaz and Jules Maenen. In 1954, he became a professional road cyclist, which he remained until 1962. During the 1955 Tour de France, De Groot was in the thirteenth initially dropped by the peloton, and had problems with the heat. Cor de Groot (July 7, 1914May 26, 1993) was a Dutch pianist and composer. He was born in Amsterdam. He studied piano with Egbert Veen and Ulferts Schults, and composition and conducting under Sem Dresden. In 1932 he graduated with highest honours, playing a piano concerto written by himself. After becoming a soloist with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, he won the fifth prize at the 1936 international contest for pianists in Vienna. He played all over the world and recordings that exist demonstrate a strong sense of structure, a clean rhythmic attack and very precise dynamic shadings. He was a member of the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition's jury in 1956. In 1959 a nervous disorder developed in his right hand but he continued playing repertoire for the left hand.
