The compilation — the band's first greatest hits album — consists of the entire original 1981 album '' Days of Innocence'', plus bonus tracks featuring the band's successive singles, as well as several tracks from the band's second album ''Matinee''. Moving Pictures are an Australian rock music band formed in 1980. Their debut album, '' Days of Innocence'', was issued in October 1981 and eventually peaked at No. 1 on the Kent Music Report Albums Chart in February the following year. In January 1982, they released their single, "What About Me", which reached No. 1 on the Kent Singles Chart. Later that year, Elektra Records issued ''Days of Innocence'' and "What About Me" in North America. The single reached No. 29 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and appeared on the associated year-end Hot 100 list for 1983. A proposed series of United States performances supporting REO Speedwagon, Tom Petty, and Hall & Oates fell through when Elektra was substantially reorganised. ''Footloose: Original Soundtrack of the Paramount Motion Picture'' is the soundtrack album to the Paramount motion picture ''Footloose''. The original nine-track album was released in 1984 and reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' 200 chart on April 21, 1984, where it stayed until June 23, 1984. It contained six ''Billboard'' Hot 100 Top 40 hits, three of which reached the Top 10, including two number-one hits, "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins and "Let's Hear It for the Boy" by Deniece Williams. "Almost Paradise", a duet by Ann Wilson and Mike Reno reached number seven, plus "Somebody's Eyes" by Karla Bonoff climbed to number sixteen on the Adult Contemporary chart. "Never" is a song written by Dean Pitchford and Michael Gore and recorded by Australian pop rock band Moving Pictures. It was featured on the chart-topping soundtrack album of the 1984 motion picture ''Footloose''. The song is best known for a scene in the film when an angst-ridden Ren McCormack (Kevin Bacon) punchdances around an abandoned warehouse. The song was also included in the soundtrack of the 2007 film '' Hot Rod'', which parodies the punchdance scene with Rod Kimble (Andy Samberg) in a forest. Dean Pitchford
Dean Pitchford (born July 29, 1951) is an American songwriter, screenwriter, director, actor, and novelist. His work has earned him an Oscar and a Golden Globe Award, as well as nominations for three additional Oscars, two more Golden Globes, eight Grammy Awards, and two Tony Awards. Early life Pitchford was born in Honolulu, where he attended Catholic schools, graduating in 1968 from Saint Louis High School. He began his performance career as an actor and a singer with the Honolulu Community Theatre (now Diamond Head Theatre), the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and the Honolulu Theatre for Youth, among others.
