''Daybreak'' is the seventh studio album by the American rock band Saves the Day. This album is the band's first without long-time guitarist David Soloway since 1998, and their first with guitarist Arun Bali and bass guitarist Rodrigo Palma. The album also features Spencer Peterson on drums for the first time, before leaving the band prior to the album's release. Background When pre-orders were posted for ''Under the Boards'' in 2007, listings mentioned that Saves the Day would be releasing an album in 2008 dubbed ''Daybreak''. In late 2007, vocalist/guitarist Chris Conley and guitarist David Soloway worked with Say Anything vocalist Max Bemis and drummer Coby Linder for the side project Two Tongues. Saves The Day
Saves the Day is an American Rock music, rock band from Princeton, New Jersey, formed in 1997. The band currently consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Chris Conley, guitarist Arun Bali, and bassist Rodrigo Palma. After forming under the name Sefler in 1994, Saves the Day released their debut studio album, ''Can't Slow Down (Saves the Day album), Can't Slow Down'', in 1998. It was followed by ''Through Being Cool'' (1999), which featured their first single, "Shoulder to the Wheel". ''Stay What You Are'' was released in 2001, peaking at No. 100 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200. It spawned two successful music videos on MTV2, for the singles "At Your Funeral" and "Freakish", and has since sold 300,000 copies. Big Star (band)
Big Star was an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1971 by Alex Chilton (vocals, guiar), Chris Bell (vocals, guitar), Jody Stephens (drums), and Andy Hummel (bass). The group broke up in early 1975, and reorganized with a new lineup 18 years later following a reunion concert at the University of Missouri. ''Sound the Alarm'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band Saves the Day. After signing to major label DreamWorks Records, the band released ''In Reverie'' in late 2003. Shortly afterwards DreamWorks Records was absorbed by Interscope Records, resulting in the band being dropped from label. After completing some songs in early 2005, the band was aiming to record in May, hoping to release the album in the fall. Pre-production took place in early August with recording being done at the band's own studio, Electric Ladybug Studios with Steve Evetts as the producer. After recording wrapped up in October, the band immediately undertook a 47-date US tour.
