Dawson Bates
Sir Richard Dawson Bates, 1st Baronet (23 November 1876 – 10 June 1949), known as Dawson Bates, was an Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) member of the House of Commons of Northern Ireland. He was born in Strandtown, Belfast, the son of Richard Dawson Bates, solicitor and Clerk of the Crown, and Mary Dill. His paternal grandfather, John Bates (d. 1855), had been a minor figure in the Conservative Party in Belfast, before his duties were discharged on a Chancery Court ruling of maladministration. Bates was educated at Coleraine Academical Institution. After studying at Queen's University Belfast, he became a solicitor in 1900, in 1908 founding a firm with his uncle – E and R.D. Bates, later R.B.Uprichard would be apprenticed, become a partner and eventually take over the firm of E and R.D. Bates and Uprichard, as Crown Solicitor. Dawson Turner
Dawson Turner (18 October 1775 – 21 June 1858) was an English banker, botanist and antiquary. He specialized in the botany of cryptogams and was the father-in-law of the botanist William Jackson Hooker. Life Turner was the son of James Turner, head of the Gurney and Turner's Yarmouth Bank; see also: and Elizabeth Cotman, the only daughter of the mayor of Yarmouth, John Cotman. He was educated at North Walsham Grammar School (now Paston College), Norfolk and at Barton Bendish as a pupil of the botanist Robert Forby. Dawson Earle Trotman (March 25, 1906 – June 18, 1956) was an Evangelism, evangelist and founder of The Navigators (organization), the Navigators. Biography Trotman was born on March 25, 1906, in Bisbee, Arizona, US. Ministry Trotman founded the Navigators in 1933. He lost his life on June 18, 1956, while rescuing a girl, Allene Beck, from drowning during water-skiing in Schroon Lake (New York lake), Schroon Lake, New York. Trotman worked with many other evangelicals of his day, including Henrietta Mears, Jim Rayburn, Charles E. Fuller (Baptist minister), Charles E. Fuller, Bill Bright, Billy Graham, and Dick Hillis. Lorne Sanny (1920–2005) succeeded him as president of the Navigators after Trotman's wife Lila was its short-term interim president. Personal life Trotman married Lila Mae Clayton on July 3, 1932. James Dawson Stelfox is an architect from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He is the former chairman of Consarc Design Group and in May 2008, he was elected president of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects. Education and career He was born in Belfast in 1958, attended Rosetta Primary School, then Royal Belfast Academical Institution, and in 1976 began to study architecture at Queen's University Belfast. His first job was with the conservation architects, Consarc, which after a brief period of self-employment he rejoined in 1995. He came chairman in 2002. Among the many projects on which he has worked are Parliament Buildings, Stormont; Belfast's Christ Church; the Odyssey Arena; and the Ormeau Gas Works. Dawson Murschell (born 23 November 1995) is a Canadian former professional darts player who played in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events from 2017 to 2019. Career Murschell first appeared in a televised darts tournament in 2017, when he took part in the North American Championship, defeating David Cameron, before losing to eventual winner, Willard Bruguier. By qualifying for that tournament, he also qualified for the 2017 US Darts Masters in Las Vegas, where he was drawn against James Wade in the first round. After surviving six match darts from "The Machine", Murschell hit double top to win and set up a quarter-final with Gerwyn Price, which he would go on to lose 8–4.
