The ''Davidov Stradivarius'' (also: ''Davidoff'' or ''Davydov''; russian: Давыдов), is an antique cello made in 1712 by Italian luthier Antonio Stradivari of Cremona, Italy. It is very similar in construction and form to the equally famed ''Duport Stradivarius'', built a year earlier and played by Mstislav Rostropovich until his death in 2007. The varnish is of a rich orange-red hue, produced with oil color glazes. Its owners have included Karl Davydov and Jacqueline du Pré, and it is currently used by cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Pāvels Davidovs (born 30 December 1980) is a Latvian former football goalkeeper. Club career Davidovs played for FK Avots until 2000, when he started his professional career with FK Ventspils in the Latvian Higher League. He made only one appearance through the season, being a total backup keeper. In 2002, he left FK Ventspils, going to a one level lower league and joining FK Auda in Riga. He played 10 matches there and in 2003 had a spell in Lithuania with FK Ekranas. In 2004, he came back to Latvia, signing a contract with Latvian Higher League club Dinaburg FC in Daugavpils. Also this time he could not capitalize in the league and played only one match. Yevgeni Vitalievich Davydov (russian: Евгений Витальевич Давыдов); born May 27, 1967) is a Russian former professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League for the Winnipeg Jets, Florida Panthers and the Ottawa Senators. Playing career On January 4, 1987, Davydov was playing for the Soviet Union's team at the World Junior Championship. In the infamous ''Punch-up in Piestany'', Davydov was identified as the player who jumped the boards and caused a bench-clearing brawl. Both teams were ejected from the tournament and Canada lost an assured medal. Davydov was drafted 235th overall by Winnipeg in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft.
