Davide Xausa
Davide Antonio Xausa (born 10 March 1976) is a Canadian former soccer player. Club career Xausa started his career with Metro Ford Wolves before accepting a scholarship with the University of Portland where he was a 3 time All American, 4 time WCC 1st team pick and 3 time All Far West Region 1st team. After spending three years at the University of Portland, Xausa was chosen to be part of the 1996 Canadian Olympic team. During that qualification Xausa led the Canadian team to final playoff against Australia for a qualification spot. The attempt was unsuccessful but as a result of his play he relocated to Stoke-on-Trent, England in January 1998 to play for Port Vale on trial. Unable to secure a contract he was asked to join their rivals Stoke City the following month. Xausa signed a six-month contract and but he only played once, away at Bury in 1997–98, as then manager Chris Kamara, was sacked for a poor run of form. The Open Canada Cup was an annual knock-out cup competition in Canadian Soccer. The competition was first held during the 1998 season as the CPSL League Cup. It was organized by the Canadian Soccer League (formerly the Canadian Professional Soccer League) originally as a League Cup for CSL member clubs. After operating the competition for several seasons as an exclusive tournament the league's ownership decided in 2003 to grant accessibility to all Canadian professional and amateur clubs. Guatemala National Football Team
The Guatemala national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Guatemala) represents Guatemala in men's international football and is controlled by the ''Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala''. Founded in 1919, it has been affiliated to FIFA since 1946, and it is a member of CONCACAF. The team has made three Olympic tournament appearances, competing at the 1968, 1976, and 1988 Olympic Games. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. The Eerste Divisie (, en, First Division) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie and with the third-level Tweede Divisie via promotion/relegation systems. It is also known as the Keuken Kampioen Divisie due to sponsorship, while previously it was known as Jupiler League for the same reason.
