David Werner
David B. Werner (born 26 August, 1934) is author of the book ''Donde No Hay Doctor'' (''Where There is No Doctor''), co-founder and co-director of HealthWrights (based in Palo Alto, California) and Adjunct Associate Professor at Boston University School of Public Health, Department of International Health. A biologist and educator by training, he has worked for many years in rural health, community health, village health care, community-based rehabilitation, and child-to-child health initiatives in the Third World, especially Mexico. For several decades Werner served as facilitator and adviser to Project Piaxtla, a villager-run program which contributed to the early conceptualization and evolution of primary health care. It was located in Ajoya, San Ignacio, Sinaloa but moved to nearby Coyotitan in 2000. David Werner is an American rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Biography Werner was born in Pittsburgh and released two albums on RCA Victor in the mid-1970s before signing with Epic Records later in the decade. His full-length, self-titled album, released in 1979, reached #65 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of the single "What's Right", which reached #104 on the Billboard pop chart in October of that year.Joel Whitburn, ''Top Pop Singles''. 12th edition, 2009, p. 1049. David Werner (born c. 1953) is an American real estate investor and founder of David Werner Real Estate. Biography Werner was born to an Orthodox Jewish family, the son of Holocaust survivors, and raised in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. Werner started his career as an accountant and then began to invest in real estate with partners from his community in Brooklyn. After bidding on a building that was being sold by the estate of real estate investor Sylvan Lawrence, he found out that he had the right to seek a price reduction but instead committed to the transaction as he had given his word. In 1997, he was rewarded for his integrity by Lawrence's heirs who gave him first rights to a portfolio of four buildings which Werner purchased for $387.5 million and sold his interest for a $7.5 million profit.
