David Hyde Pierce
David Hyde Pierce (born April 3, 1959) is an American actor and director of stage, film and television. He starred as psychiatrist Dr. Niles Crane on the NBC sitcom ''Frasier'' from 1993 to 2004, and won four Primetime Emmy Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award for the role. Pierce also received the 2007 Tony Award for playing Lieutenant Frank Cioffi in the musical ''Curtains''. He is also widely known for playing Frank Prady in eight episodes of the television legal drama ''The Good Wife'', and Henry Newman in the comedy film ''Wet Hot American Summer'' and its subsequent television spin-offs. Pierce has played supporting roles in many films, including Joan Micklin Silver's ''Crossing Delancey'' (1988), Terry Gilliam's ''The Fisher King'' (1991), Nora Ephron's ''Sleepless in Seattle'' (1993), Mike Nichols' ''Wolf'' (1994), and Oliver Stone's ''Nixon'' (1995). Dave Pierce (born October 24, 1972) is a Canadian songwriter, composer, producer and arranger. Pierce was the music director for the opening, closing, and victory ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, for which he received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Direction in 2010, arranger for Twyla Tharp's Frank Sinatra musical, ''Come Fly Away'' (opened March 2010) in New York at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway and later that year opening as ''Sinatra Dance With Me'' at the Wynn Las Vegas; and music director of the Calgary Stampede Evening Grandstand Show. David Pierce is an American baseball coach. He is currently the head coach at Texas Longhorns baseball, The University of Texas at Austin. Pierce was named head coach of the Longhorns on June 29, 2016. Assistant coaching history University of Houston Having coached at Rice in 1991 and then in the high school ranks, Pierce rejoined the collegiate coaching ranks at his alma mater, the University of Houston. As the Cougars hitting coach, he helped the team to two postseason tournaments.
