David Pearson (born 1955) is an English librarian who served as the Director of Culture, Heritage and Libraries at the City of London Corporation between 2009 and 2017; his brief covered London Metropolitan Archives, Guildhall Library, City Business Library, Guildhall Art Gallery, and other institutions. He retired in early 2017 to focus on his work in book history and is now a Senior Member of Darwin College, Cambridge (from 2016); Honorary Senior Research Associate of the Department of Information Studies, University College London (from 2016); and Senior Fellow of the Institute of English Studies, University of London (from 2017). David Pearson (racing Driver)
David Gene Pearson (December 22, 1934 – November 12, 2018) was an American stock car driver, who raced from 1960 to 1986 in the former NASCAR Grand National and Winston Cup Series (now called the NASCAR Cup Series), most notably driving the No. 21 Mercury for Wood Brothers Racing. Pearson won the 1960 NASCAR Rookie of the Year award and three Cup Series championships (1966, 1968, and 1969). He never missed a race in the years he was active. NASCAR described his 1974 season as an indication of his "consistent greatness", finishing third in the season points having competed in only 19 of 30 races. Pearson's career paralleled Richard Petty's, the driver who has won the most races in NASCAR history. They accounted for 63 first/second-place finishes, with the edge going to Pearson. Early life and college career Pearson grew up in Brighton, Michigan and graduated from Brighton High School (Michigan), Brighton High School in 1999. David Samuel Pearson (4 August 1937 – 19 July 2008), commonly known as "Dave Pearson", was an English painter and educator who was "a great example of an artist whose life was completely dedicated to serving the imagination". Highly prolific, throughout his life he produced a prodigious quantity of work. Life Dave Pearson was born in Clapton, London in 1937. His father, Sam, was a tailor and his mother Ann went on, in later life, to become a prolific self-taught artist. Pearson was evacuated to Leicester at the age of 7, and later attended Parmiter's Grammar School in Bethnal Green. He went on to study painting at both Saint Martin's School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools. In 1963 he began teaching at Preston School of Art but soon moved to Manchester School of Art where he remained until his retirement in 2002. David John Pearson (born 16 April 1963) is an English former cricketer. Pearson was a left-handed batsman who fielded as a wicket-keeper. He was born in Whalley, Lancashire. Pearson made his debut for Cumberland in the 1990 Minor Counties Championship against Bedfordshire. He played minor counties cricket for Cumberland from 1990 to 2000, including 74 matches in the Minor Counties Championship, and 21 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. He made his List A debut in 1994 against Leicestershire in the NatWest Trophy. Pearson played nine further List A Matches for Cumberland, the last of which came against Kent in the 2000 NatWest Trophy.
