David P. Richardson (Pennsylvania Politician)
David P. Richardson Jr. (April 23, 1948 – August 18, 1995) is a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Formative years Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 23, 1948, Richardson apprenticed at the Clarence Farmer Printing Service in 1960 before graduating from Germantown High School in 1965. Employed as an anesthesiologist's aide at Mercy Douglas Hospital from 1965 to 1966, he then worked as an insurance agent for the Provident Home Insurance Company from 1966 to 1968 before becoming a recreation specialist with The Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation, a position he held from 1968 to 1969. He then became an increasingly visible public figure in his capacity as executive director of the Greater Germantown Youth Corporation from 1968 to 1972. Bala Cynwyd ( ) is a community in Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania. It is located on the Philadelphia Main Line in Southeastern Pennsylvania, bordering the western edge of Philadelphia at U.S. Route 1 (City Avenue). It was originally two separate towns, Bala and Cynwyd, but is commonly treated as a single community. This came about when a single U.S. Post Office served both towns (the Bala Cynwyd branch) using ZIP Code 19004. The community was long known as hyphenated Bala-Cynwyd. Bala and Cynwyd are currently served by separate stations on SEPTA's Cynwyd Line of Regional Rail. Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) is the municipal department responsible for managing parks, recreation centers, playgrounds, trails, community gardens, and historic properties in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Germantown High School was a secondary school located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Germantown High School graduated its final class on June 19, 2013 and closed its doors that week. GHS, located in Germantown, was a part of the School District of Philadelphia. The school was built in 1914. Its students were mostly African-American, despite the previous German population of the region. Students came from the Logan, Germantown, Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill, and Nicetown-Tioga sections of the city. The team name was the Bears.1993-94 and 95 Men's Varsity basketball was ranked top in the city of Philadelphia.
