David Ménard
David Ménard (born July 15, 1990) is a professional Canadian football defensive lineman for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). University career Ménard played CIS football with the Montreal Carabins from 2010 to 2013. He was named the QUFL Rookie of the Year in 2010. Professional career BC Lions Ménard was ranked as the 13th best player in the Canadian Football League's Amateur Scouting Bureau final rankings for players eligible in the 2014 CFL Draft. He was then selected in the fourth round and 32nd overall by the BC Lions in the draft and signed with the team on May 27, 2014. He played for the Lions for six seasons and played in 94 regular season games where he had 63 defensive tackles, 17 sacks, and three forced fumbles. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. 2014 CFL Draft
The 2014 CFL Draft took place on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 7:00 PM ET on TSN. 65 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. A total of 19 trades were made involving draft picks from this year, including six made on draft day itself, with five involving picks from the first round. The Ottawa Redblacks were scheduled to pick first in each round of the 2013 CFL Draft, and were supposed to have two bonus picks at the end of the draft. East Division (CFL)
The East Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League, its counterpart being the West Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the East Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The four teams in the division are the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, and Ottawa Redblacks. Several now-defunct teams have also played in the East Division including two teams from the United States and a large number of teams that have played in Hamilton, Montreal, and Ottawa prior to the current teams from those cities. 2020 CFL Season
The 2020 CFL season would have been the 67th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it would have been the 63rd season of the Canadian Football League. It was originally scheduled to begin on June 11; on April 7, the start of the season was delayed to begin no sooner than July due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The CFL planned to obtain financial assistance from the federal government.
