David Jones (cricketer, Born 1920)
David Alfred Jones (9 March 1920 – 18 April 1990) was a Welsh cricketer. Jones was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born at Aberkenfig, Glamorgan. Jones made a single first-class appearance for Glamorgan in 1938 against Sir J Cahn's XI at Rodney Parade, Newport. In the match he scored 6 runs in his only first-class innings and took 2/22 with the ball. Jones died at Pen-y-fai, Glamorgan, on 18 April 1990. Aberkenfig ( cy, Abercynffig, meaning "mouth of the Kenfig" (stream)) is a village located in the Bridgend (county borough), County Borough of Bridgend, Wales to the north of Bridgend town. It is in the Community (Wales), community of Newcastle Higher. Location Aberkenfig is located in South Wales, just off the A4063 link to the M4 motorway, M4 at Junction 36. Rodney Parade is a stadium in the city of Newport, South Wales, owned and operated by the Welsh Rugby Union. It is located on the east bank of the River Usk in Newport city centre. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps.
