David Glass (Israeli Politician)
David Glass ( he, דוד גלס, 16 October 1936 – 16 August 2014) was an Israeli civil servant and politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the National Religious Party between 1977 and 1981. Biography Born in Balfouria during the Mandate era, David Glass was educated at a yeshiva high school, before studying law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he was certified as a lawyer. In 1956 he began working as an assistant to the director of the Religious Education Centre. In 1960 he became director of the Bureau of the Minister of Religious Affairs, before becoming director of the Department of Karaites and Samaritans in 1964. Between 1966 and 1969 he worked as an assistant to the Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs. From 1969 to 1971 he was Deputy Director for Special Functions in the Religious Affairs Ministry, before becoming the ministry's deputy director in 1971 and then director in 1974. Balfouria
Balfouria () is a moshav in northern Israel, south of Nazareth. Located near Afula, it falls under the jurisdiction of Jezreel Valley Regional Council. As of it had a population of . History The initial core of settlers assembled in 1919 and began training for the establishment of an agricultural settlement. A tract of land was purchased with the funds of the American Zion Commonwealth, and Keren Hayesod acquired equipment. The moshav was founded in 1922, the third to be established in Palestine, and was named after The 1st Earl of Balfour, writer of the Balfour Declaration (who consented to lending his name to the settlement), which embraced Zionist plans for a Jewish "national home". According to a census conducted in 1922 by the British Mandate authorities, Balfouria had a population of 18 Jews. Gall Bladder
In vertebrates, the gallbladder, also known as the cholecyst, is a small hollow organ where bile is stored and concentrated before it is released into the small intestine. In humans, the pear-shaped gallbladder lies beneath the liver, although the structure and position of the gallbladder can vary significantly among animal species. It receives and stores bile, produced by the liver, via the common hepatic duct, and releases it via the common bile duct into the duodenum, where the bile helps in the digestion of fats. The gallbladder can be affected by gallstones, formed by material that cannot be dissolved – usually cholesterol or bilirubin, a product of haemoglobin breakdown. These may cause significant pain, particularly in the upper-right corner of the abdomen, and are often treated with removal of the gallbladder (called a cholecystectomy).
