Sir David Callender Campbell, (29 January 1891 – 12 June 1963) was an Ulster Unionist politician in Northern Ireland. Campbell was born in Cudappah, India where his father William Howard Campbell was a missionary working with the London Missionary Society. The third of four sons of whom the youngest, William, died of malaria on the way to England in 1894, David studied at Foyle College before going to Edinburgh University. David joined the colonial services in 1919 and served in Tanganyika and then served as deputy chief secretary in Uganda. He then became a secretary in Gibraltar and acting Lieutenant Governor of Malta. Sir David Campbell MC FRSE (1889–1978) was a Scottish physician and pharmacologist. He was Professor of Materia Medica at Aberdeen University from 1930 to 1959. He won the Military Cross in 1918 due to his bravery serving in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Life He was born in Patna, East Ayrshire in south-west Scotland on 6 May 1889, the son of Agnes Smith Campbell, a seamstress. His father, Stewart Campbell, was a teacher, but died either before David was born or soon after, leaving the family in difficult financial circumstances. However, David’s brilliant mind compensated for other factors. He won a scholarship to Ayr Academy and then won a further scholarship to Glasgow University to study Mathematics and Physics. David Campbell (British Army Officer)
General Sir David Graham Muschet "Soarer" Campbell (28 January 1869 – 12 March 1936) was a cavalry officer of the British Army, amateur sportsman, and later Governor of Malta. After home service in Britain and Ireland his regiment, 9th Queen's Royal Lancers, was posted to South Africa in 1896, and on to India in 1898, though Campbell seems to have spent some of this period in the United Kingdom. The regiment returned to South Africa following the outbreak of the Second Boer War, during which he saw his first action. By the outbreak of the First World War he was in command of the regiment. He led them in two cavalry charges in the first months of the war; the second of these saw him receive multiple wounds, one of them from a lance, making him one of the last British casualties of that weapon. David Callender Campbell (1860 - 24 June 1926) was an Irish businessman and naturalist. Life David Callender Campbell was born in 1860, near Derry. He was one of nine children of Thomas Callender Campbell. Two of his brothers also had an interest in natural history, Thomas Vincent and William Howard. He was a senior partner in the family business of flour importing, Campbell Bros. He was the uncle of the MP David Campbell. Campbell's interest in natural history was wide, but he had a specific interest in butterflies and birds, recording numerous occurrences and observations in the ''Irish Naturalist'' from 1892 to 1923 as well as in other journals. He established a museum in Derry, but it closed after his death. David Chad Campbell (born May 31, 1974) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour, where he has won four times. He also notably finished as a runner-up at the 2009 Masters, after losing in a sudden-death playoff. Early years and amateur career Campbell was born in Andrews, Texas and grew up in west Texas. He was a member of a strong junior college men's golf squad during the years (1992–94) he played at Midland College. David Anthony Campbell (born 2 June 1965 in Eglington, Northern Ireland) is a former Northern Ireland international footballer who played in the midfield position. Born in Eglinton, just outside Derry, Campbell's playing career took off at local intermediate side, Oxford United Stars FC. From there he moved on to Nottingham Forest as an apprentice in June 1981, picking up Northern Ireland youth caps along the way, before signing professional forms at the City Ground in June 1983. At Forest, Campbell's route to a regular first team midfield spot was always going to be difficult, especially with young English talent such as Neil Webb and Steve Hodge also battling to establish themselves. David C. Campbell (September 5, 1873 – June 30, 1949) was an American college football player who was a member of the Harvard Crimson football team of Harvard University. Campbell was selected as a consensus All-American at the end position for three consecutive years from 1899 to 1901. He was the captain of the undefeated 1901 Harvard Crimson football team that finished 12–0. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1958. Campbell was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, in 1873. He grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts, and played football at the Worcester Academy and Lawrence Scientific School. He enrolled at Harvard in his mid-20s and played for the Harvard Crimson football team from 1899 to 1901.
