David Brignull
David Brignull (born 27 November 1981 in Forest Gate, London) is an English cricket player. He formerly played for Leicestershire until 2005 after progressing through their academy. Brignull is a medium-fast bowler who has represented his country at Under 19 level. In 2006 he was signed by Shropshire in Minor Counties cricket. The following season he represented Cambridgeshire in Minor Counties cricket. He is the nephew of former professional footballer Phil Brignull Philip Arthur Brignull (born 2 October 1960) is an English former professional footballer who played from 1978 to 1988. Forest Gate is a district in the London Borough of Newham, East London, England. It is located northeast of Charing Cross. The area's name relates to its position adjacent to Wanstead Flats, the southernmost part of Epping Forest. Leicestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Leicestershire. It has also been representative of the county of Rutland. The club's limited overs team is called the Leicestershire Foxes. Founded in 1879, the club had minor county status until 1894 when it was promoted to first-class status pending its entry into the County Championship in 1895. The England Under-19 cricket team have been playing official Under-19 Test matches since 1974. Prior to 1991/92 they were known as England Young Cricketers. Minor Counties Of English And Welsh Cricket
The National Counties, known as the Minor Counties before 2020, are the cricketing counties of England and Wales that do not have first-class status. The game is administered by the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA), which comes under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). There are currently twenty teams in National Counties cricket: nineteen representing historic counties of England, plus the Wales National County Cricket Club. Of the 39 historic counties of England, 17 have a first-class county cricket team (the 18th first-class county is Glamorgan in Wales) and 18 participate in the National Counties championship. Cambridgeshire County Cricket Club is one of twenty minor county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Cambridgeshire including the Isle of Ely. The original Cambridgeshire club, established in 1844, is classified as a first-class team from 1857 to 1871. The present club, founded in 1891, has always had minor status although it has played List A matches occasionally from 1964 until 2004 but is not classified as a List A team ''per se''. Philip Arthur Brignull (born 2 October 1960) is an English former professional footballer who played from 1978 to 1988. As a defender, he made over 150 appearances in the Football League during his career. Career An England schoolboy international, Brignull started his career as a youth team player at West Ham United. He played just one game in all competitions for West Ham, as a substitute during a 0–0 draw with Cardiff City in on 11 May 1979, before moving to Bournemouth in August 1981. He was a member of the Bournemouth team which knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup in January 1984. He played as Bournemouth won the inaugural Associate Members' Cup by beating Hull City in the final.
