Dave Smith (darts Player)
David Robert Smith (born on 17 June 1971 in Pontefract, Yorkshire) is an English professional darts player from Knottingley, Wakefield, West Yorkshire who currently playing in the British Darts Organisation events. He has nickname The Rhino. Career Dave enjoyed most success in the PDC between 2002–2004, which included a quarter final in the 2003 UK Open, and qualifying for three other tournaments through a one-off qualifier. Smith has earned a full PDC Pro Tour card for the 2011 and 2012 seasons via his world ranking. Pontefract
Pontefract is a historic market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, England, east of Wakefield and south of Castleford. 2003 Las Vegas Desert Classic
The 2003 Las Vegas Desert Classic was the second major Professional Darts Corporation Las Vegas Desert Classic darts tournament. It was held in the MGM Grand Casino and Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada in early July. 26 players competed in the tournament. Peter Manley defeated John Part 16–12 in legs in the final and won $22,000. Mark Holden (born 21 November 1960) is an English former professional darts player, who played in the Professional Darts Corporation events. His nickname was Top Banana. Career Holden qualified for two World Matchplay between 2002 and 2003, but never got past the Last 32 stage. Holden qualified for three PDC World Darts Championships between 2003 and 2005, but never got past the Last 32 stage. The PDC Pro Tour is a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). They comprise Professional Dart Players Association (PDPA) Players Championships and European Tour events. Only four players have gone on to win at least 30 titles on the PDC Pro Tour. Michael van Gerwen has won the most Pro Tour titles winning 84. Phil Taylor is second on the list winning 70 events, Peter Wright third winning 32 events and Gary Anderson in fourth winning 31 events, as of September 2022. British Darts Organisation
The British Darts Organisation (BDO) was a darts organisation founded on 7 January 1973 by Olly Croft. Made up of 66 member counties, it oversaw professional, semi-professional and amateur darts competitions in Britain. The BDO was a founder member of the World Darts Federation in 1976. It also staged a BDO World Darts Championship, World Professional Darts Championship from 1978 to 2020. In the early 1990s, a dispute between Olly Croft and the top darts players over the decline in TV coverage and sponsorship led to an acrimonious Split in darts, split in the game, with the players breaking away to form their own governing body which became the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC).
