David Dalrymple Moore (June 4, 1924 – January 28, 1998) was a popular Minnesota television personality and beloved figure in the area from the 1950s through the time of his death. Moore hosted the evening news on WCCO channel 4 from 1957 until he retired to a more leisurely schedule in 1991. When recounting Moore's life story, journalists never neglect to include the fact that he was only offered the anchor post after Walter Cronkite turned it down. Like Cronkite, Moore reported the news like an everyday man off the street—which he contended that he was. The string of good fortune that led to Moore becoming influential was sometimes a source of guilt for him. His humble nature and commitment to hard journalism is considered a major contributor to the high quality of Twin Cities newscasts through the 1990s. Dave Moore (American Football)
David Edward Moore (born November 11, 1969) is a retired American football player who over the span of his 15-year career (1992–2006) with the National Football League played for the Miami Dolphins, the Buffalo Bills, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Moore played as a tight end and fullback. His last official game was the Pro Bowl in 2007 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Moore didn't miss more than two games in any season for his entire Buccaneers career since first joining the team in 1993. At the time of his retirement, he was the fourth tight end in NFL history to play 200 career games. In fact, before him, only 206 NFL players had accomplished this feat in the entirety of the National Football League's existence. During his career he had a rate of one touchdown scored for every 7.7 passes caught, which was the best touchdown rate by any player in Buccaneer history who had at least 50 career receptions. Dave Moore (born 14 April 1966, Douglas, Isle of Man) is a television motorsport commentator and script writer. He has commentated on many motorsport events including the North West 200 and the Ulster Grand Prix for BBC television. He is one of the commentators on the British Rally Championship which is broadcast on Sky Sports. He was the on-screen presenter and is commentator for the British Motocross Championship which is broadcast on Sky Sports. He is also race commentator of the P1 Powerboat Championship which is broadcast on Sky Sports. David Moore (born 17 December 1959) is an English former professional footballer, football manager and physiotherapist. He is the head physiotherapist of Football League Two club Grimsby Town. As a player, he made nearly 300 appearances in the Football League between 1978 and 1990, playing as a defender for Grimsby Town, Carlisle United, Blackpool and Darlington. He also played non-league football for Boston United. In 1994, he became manager of Scunthorpe United but was replaced two years later by Mick Buxton. Dave Moore (born Cedar Rapids, IA, July 5, 1951) is a folksinger, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who lives in Iowa City, IA. He is accomplished on the guitar, harmonica, button accordion, pan pipes, and more. He performed regularly on A Prairie Home Companion between 1986 and 2014. His ninth album, ''Breaking Down to 3,'' was the subject of an interview-feature on NPR’s All Things Considered,. In 1985, he won a National Endowment for the Arts grant to study Conjunto accordion with Fred Zimmerle in Texas; he had previously "spent the bulk of the '70s traveling through Latin America and the American South and West, soaking in a wide range of musical influences along the way," and studying with folk musicians in San Cristobal de las Casas and Chiapas. David John Haskins (born 24 April 1957, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England), better known as David J, is a British alternative rock musician, producer, and writer. He is the bassist for the gothic rock band Bauhaus and for Love and Rockets. He has composed the scores for a number of plays and films, and also wrote and directed his own plays, ''Silver for Gold (The Odyssey of Edie Sedgwick)'', in 2008, which was restaged at REDCAT in Los Angeles in 2011, and ''The Chanteuse and The Devil's Muse'' in 2011. His artwork has been shown in galleries internationally, and he has been a resident DJ at venues such as the Knitting Factory.
