Dave Keane (born 1956 in Passage West, County Cork, Ireland) is an Irish retired hurling manager and former player. He played hurling with his local clubs Passage West and Adare and was manager of the Limerick senior inter-county team from 2002 until 2003. Passage West GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Passage West, in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling. It is a member of the Seandún division of Cork GAA. The club is geographically located in the Carrigdhoun GAA division and was originally a member of it prior to transferring to Seandún following a dispute. The club is currently playing Junior Football and Junior Hurling. The club's ground is located in the Maulbaun area of the town. Adare GAA
Adare GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA club based in Adare, County Limerick, Republic of Ireland. Adare have reached the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship, County Senior Hurling Final on 12 occasions. After losing the finals of 1968, 1986, 1990, 1993 and 1996, they finally won their first championship in 2001 and successfully defended it in 2002. In 2003, they narrowly missed out on winning three county titles in a row after losing out to Patrickswell GAA, Patrickswell in the final. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The same game played by women is called camogie ('), which shares a common Gaelic root. The GAA Hurling Under-20 All-Ireland Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Hurling Under-20 All-Ireland Championship) is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in Ireland. The championship was contested as the All-Ireland Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2018 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2019. The final, currently held on the fourth Sunday in August, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during the summer months, and the results determine which team receives the James Nowlan Cup. Séamus Murphy (Wexford Hurler)
Séamus Murphy (born 1950s in Rathnure, County Wexford) is an Irish former hurling manager and player. Career He played hurling for his local club Rathnure and at senior level for the Wexford county team in the 1970s and early 1980s. Coaching career He retired from playing and became a manager due to a shoulder injury received during practice for the 1979 Wexford county title. Physiotherapy and medical treatments were unsuccessful, and Rathnure asked him to coach the minor and juvenile teams in 1981. Both teams won titles in his first season as coach. While coaching Rathnure, Murphy also worked as a construction worker for Dublin company Collen Construction. Murphy was the coach for the Wexford under-21 team when they won titles in 2001 and 2002. He had hoped to become manager of the senior Wexford team in 2001 when Tony Dempsey stepped down, but he was not considered for the post.
