Dave Hunt (Oregon Politician)
Dave Hunt (born November 10, 1967) is an American politician in the state of Oregon. A Democrat, he was the Oregon House Speaker and served as State Representative for District 40 of the Oregon House of Representatives representing Clackamas County from 2003 to 2013. He was elected House Majority Leader for the 2007–2009 session, succeeding Minority Leader Jeff Merkley, who was chosen as Speaker. Hunt served as Speaker during the 2009–2011 session, again succeeding Merkley, who was elected to serve in the United States Senate. After his service in the House, Hunt served as President & CEO of the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition (PNDC) for five years. He currently serves as President & CEO of Columbia Public Affairs. The Oregon House of Representatives is the lower house of the Oregon Legislative Assembly. There are 60 members of the House, representing 60 districts across the state, each with a population of 65,000. The House meets in the west wing of the Oregon State Capitol in Salem. Johnson City, Oregon
Johnson City is a city in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 566 at the 2010 census. Because of its small area, its population density is over 8,000 per square mile, making it the most densely populated city in Oregon. History On June 16, 1970, the residents of a trailer court owned by Delbert Johnson voted 49-to-10 to incorporate. Johnson had started the development in 1959, and in 1968 was unsuccessful in having the area annexed to Gladstone. The 55th Oregon Legislative Assembly in 1969 established a boundary review board to prevent an increase in small incorporated cities, but proponents of Johnson City's incorporation had filed for an election before the law took effect. Jennings Lodge is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States, between Milwaukie and Gladstone. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Jennings Lodge as a census-designated place (CDP). The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name. As of the United States Census, 2010, it had a total population of 7,315. Even though Jennings Lodge is not part of Oregon City; the local elementary school (along with nearby Candy Lane Elementary) forms an exclave of the Oregon City School District. Oak Grove is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States, in the Portland metropolitan area. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Oak Grove as a census-designated place (CDP). History Oak Grove was named at the suggestion of Edward W. Cornell, a member of the surveying party that platted the townsite in the 1890s. The company that was developing the property had not been able to come up with a good name for the place, and Cornell suggested "Oak Grove" after a crew ate lunch in a stand of oak trees in the northwestern part of the tract. Gladstone is a city located in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 11,491 at the 2010 census. Gladstone is an approximately suburban community, south of Portland, the largest city in Oregon, and located at the confluence of the Clackamas and Willamette rivers. Clackamas County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 421,401, making it Oregon's third-most populous county. Louise Slaughter
Dorothy Louise Slaughter (née McIntosh, August 14, 1929 – March 16, 2018) was an American politician elected to 16 terms as a United States Representative from New York, serving from 1987 until her death in 2018.
