David John Hill (born 4 April 1946) is an English rock musician. He is the lead guitarist, a backing vocalist and the sole continuous member in the English band Slade. Hill is known for his flamboyant stage clothes and hairstyle. Early life Born in Flete House, Holbeton, Devon, the son of a mechanic, he moved with his parents to Penn, Wolverhampton, when he was a year old. He attended the city's Springdale Junior School and Highfields Secondary school. He bought his first guitar from a mail-order catalogue and received some guitar lessons from a science teacher at his school. He then formed a band called The Young Ones with some school friends. He worked in an office for Tarmac Limited for over two years after leaving school. Slade Hill originally played with drummer Don Powell in a band called The Vendors, whose name was then changed to The N' Betweens. David Burnham Hill (November 11, 1937 – October 16, 2018) was an American professional baseball player, a pitcher who appeared in two games in the Major Leagues for the Kansas City Athletics. Hill attended Northwestern University; he threw left-handed, batted right-handed, and was listed as tall and . Hill signed with the Athletics in 1957 as a "Bonus Baby", under the Bonus Rule. Dave Hill (golfer)
James David Hill (May 20, 1937 – September 27, 2011) was an American professional golfer. He was the brother of Mike Hill who was also a professional golfer. Professional career Hill was born in Jackson, Michigan. He attended the University of Detroit, where he played on the golf team. Hill won 13 times on the PGA Tour, three of which came during his career year of 1969, when he also won the Vardon Trophy for lowest scoring average. He was a member of the United States Ryder Cup team in 1969, 1973, and 1977. Hill was known for his quick wit and biting sarcasm, and was sometimes referred to as "the Don Rickles of the golf tour". He frequently led the tour in fines and was once suspended for two months after he deliberately broke his putter on national television. At the 1966 Thunderbird Classic, Hill signed his second round scorecard that included a score of 108 on the 18th hole. David Harris Hill (February 1, 1941 – March 14, 2022) was an American football player. He is a member of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, inducted in 2011, and a member of the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Honor, inducted in 1997. Hill was born in Lanett, Alabama and attended Lanett High School. He graduated in 1959 and attended Auburn University along with fellow Lanett High School alumnus, Bobby Hunt. Hunt played quarterback and defensive back while Hill played offensive and defensive line. A 24th round draft choice in 1963 for the American Football League (AFL)'s Kansas City Chiefs, he wore jersey number 73. Hill went on to play 149 games in all with the Chiefs, the fourth most ever by a Kansas City offensive lineman. At one point, he did not miss a game for nine straight seasons. He is Research Professor (Emeritus) in Education at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford, England, and also Visiting Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, and in the Social Policy Research Centre at Middlesex University, London.
