Darío Rodríguez (Uruguayan Footballer)
Octavio Darío Rodríguez Peña (born 17 September 1974) is a Uruguayan former footballer who played as a centre-back and left-back. He is the current manager of Peñarol. He is a younger brother of the footballer Héctor Rodríguez Peña. Club career Born in Montevideo, Rodríguez has played the majority of his club football for Peñarol, and Schalke 04. His other clubs include Sud América and Bella Vista and Toluca. He left Schalke 04 in January 2008 and returned to Peñarol. International career With Uruguay, Rodríguez was a participant at the 2002 World Cup and scored Uruguay's first goal of the tournament, a volley that curled into the top left corner of the goal. The DFL-Ligapokal (, officially Premiere Ligapokal , previously DFB-Ligapokal ) or the ''German League Cup'' was a German football competition that took place before the start of the Bundesliga season, featuring the top five teams of the previous Bundesliga season and the winners of the DFB-Pokal in Germany. The cup was known as the Premiere-Ligapokal after 2005, when Premiere, a German pay television network, took up sponsorship of the competition. The Ligapokal was not held in 2008 due to schedule crowding caused by the UEFA Euro 2008. Instead, the German Supercup was held on 23 July. The Ligapokal was not held in 2009 either, due to the German Football Association's decision to abolish it. The UEFA Intertoto Cup (from la, Inter, 'between' + german: toto, 'betting pool'),Most precisely, from (football pool); cf. often abbreviated and more known in the German-speaking world as UI Cup and originally called the International Football Cup, was a summer football competition. The competition was discontinued after the 2008 tournament. Teams who originally would have entered the Intertoto Cup now directly enter the qualifying stages of the UEFA Europa League from this point. The Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium, nicknamed Big Crown Stadium, is a football stadium in Ulsan in South Korea. It is home to the Ulsan Hyundai FC.
