Darryl Johnson (basketball)
Darryl Damone Johnson (born October 26, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player. Born in Flint, Michigan, Johnson attended Michigan State University. He was selected with the 12th overall pick in the third round (58th overall) of the 1987 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors, but never played for them. He spent most of the early part of his career playing in the Continental Basketball Association and the World Basketball League before ending his career playing in South America. Johnson also played 11 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 1995–96 NBA season, averaging 1.1 points per game. Johnson grew up playing at Jackson Park on the north side of Flint, Michigan. Daryl E. Johnson (born August 11, 1946) is a former American football defensive back who played in the American Football League, the National Football League, and the World Football League. He was a member of the Boston Patriots and was a member of the Patriots 1960s All-Decade Team. College career Johnson graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School in Richmond. He entered Morgan State University in 1964 and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. Mr. Johnson (5'10½"/170 lbs), was an invited walk-on at Morgan State, where he became a four-year letterman in football playing on three undefeated CIAA Championship football teams from 1965–1967, and was a two-year letterman in track and field. Darryl Johnson Jr. (born April 4, 1997) is an American football linebacker who is a free agent. He played college football at North Carolina A&T. Early years Johnson grew up in Kingsland, Georgia. He committed to play college football at North Carolina A&T, which was the only school that gave him an offer following an injury during his high school senior year. In his final year with the Aggies, he racked up 55 total tackles (19 for a loss) and 10.5 sacks, earning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference defensive player of the year award. Darrell Dean Johnson (August 25, 1928 – May 3, 2004) was an American Major League Baseball catcher, coach, manager and scout. As a manager, he led the 1975 Boston Red Sox to the American League pennant, and was named "Manager of the Year" by both ''The Sporting News'' and the Associated Press. Playing career Johnson was born in Horace, Nebraska, and graduated from Harvard, Nebraska, High School in 1944. He was signed by the St. Louis Browns as an amateur free agent in 1949 and made his Major League debut with the Browns on April 20, 1952. Darrel Johnson
Darrel Johnson (born February 21, 1959) is a former college basketball coach. He was head coach of the Baylor Bears team from 1992 to 1994. He was previously head coach at Oklahoma Baptist University from 1985 to 1990 and at Oklahoma City University from 1990 to 1992. After being fired in a scandal over violation of NCAA rules, he became a scout for the Charlotte Bobcats and basketball coach and director of athletics at The Woodlands Christian Academy. He later became a scout for the New Orleans Pelicans and for the Los Angeles Clippers. Johnson retired from basketball in 2021 and currently resides in Edmond, Oklahoma.
