Darren Styles
Darren James Mew (born 23 May 1975), better known as Darren Styles, is an English record producer, DJ, singer and songwriter from Colchester, England. Originally a member of the breakbeat hardcore group DJ Force & the Evolution, Styles found success during the 1990s as one half of Force & Styles. The duo were pioneers of happy hardcore and wrote several well-known songs such as " Heart of Gold", "Pretty Green Eyes" and " Paradise & Dreams". In the early 2000s, Styles began producing more trance-influenced records with Mark Brady as Styles & Breeze. The duo released two hit singles "You're Shining" (2004) and "Heartbeatz" (2005) which both reached the Top 20 of the UK Singles Chart. They have been involved in all volumes of the popular ''Clubland X-Treme Hardcore'' compilation series. Darren Styles also has a collab alias with Stonebank called "Zero Hero". "Heart of Gold" is a song written and recorded by Force & Styles. It was first recorded and released on Force & Styles album ''All over the UK'' (1996) with the vocals by Jenna, and it was released as a single in 1998 with vocals by Kelly Llorenna. It is one of the most well known hardcore songs and was used as the name of Force & Styles's greatest hits album ''Heart of Gold''. In 2002, Llorenna released a new version as her fourth solo single produced by Flip & Fill. Force & Styles version The original version was a happy hardcore song with vocals by Jenna Barr. It was released as a one sided 12" promo on United Dance Recordings and this is the version which appears on Force & Styles's first album ''All over the UK'' and their greatest hits album ''Heart of Gold'' (2000). "Pacific Sun" is a song originally written and recorded by Force & Styles featuring Junior. It was originally released on white label in 1997 and appeared on their greatest hits album ''Heart of Gold'' (2000). The song has also been covered numerous times with other versions recorded by Flip & Fill featuring Junior, Ultrabeat and Darren Styles Force & Styles version The Force & Styles version of "Pacific Sun" is happy hardcore song with vocals by Junior. The song was written and recorded by the three at Force & Styles' UK Dance Studios in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex in 1997. N-Force is an English dance music act that formed in 2008. Career The act comprises Lois McConnell as lead singer, plus Jorg Schmid and Chris Henry. N-Force is currently signed to UK Dance label All Around the World, and have so far released six singles in the UK and Germany. N-Force's tracks have appeared on various Clubland compilation CDs. Some of their songs have attained some mild success in the UK and Germany. Ultrabeat are a British electronic dance music group from Liverpool, England formed in 2002. Originally consisting of vocalist and producer Mike Di Scala and producers Ian Redman and Chris Henry, Ultrabeat first emerged with their cover of the Force & Styles song " Pretty Green Eyes", which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart 2003. It was the first Styles/Ultrabeat collaboration since Ultrabeat covered "Pretty Green Eyes" and "Feelin' Fine" in 2003. The vocals are by Rebecca Rudd, also the singer on "Elysium (I Go Crazy)".
