Darran O'Sullivan
Darran O'Sullivan (born 3 May 1986 in London, England) is a Gaelic footballer. He plays Gaelic football with his local club Glenbeigh-Glencar, his divisional side Mid Kerry and at senior level for the Kerry county team from 2005 until 2018. O'Sullivan captained Kerry to the All-Ireland title in 2009. Playing career Club While still in London, O'Sullivan began his under-age football career with Tír Chonaill Gaels. After moving to Kerry in the late 1990s he immediately joined the local Glenbeigh-Glencar club, while he has also lined out with the Mid Kerry divisional side. In 2004, he was the star player when Glenbeigh-Glencar defeated Churchill by 2–05 to 1–06 to take the county novice football championship. With Mid-Kerry, O'Sullivan lined out in the final of the county senior championship in 2008. Kerins O'Rahilly's provided the opposition on that occasion, however, the game ended in a draw. Glenbeigh-Glencar
Glenbeigh/Glencar G.A.A Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from the small village of Glenbeigh, near Killorglin in County Kerry. History There are no records of a GAA club in Glenbeigh or Glencar before a mention in 1940 but it is known that football was played in both areas down through the years, and matches took place regularly between teams in different regions of the parish and also with outside opposition. Before the Mid Kerry Board was founded in 1947,Glenbeigh was attached to the East Kerry Board. Glenbeigh won the East Kerry Junior Championship in 1943. Glenbeigh joined the East Kerry board in 1949. Glenbeigh won the Mid Kerry Senior Football Championship of 1956 when they defeated Keel in the final. That year they also won the Laune Rangers Cup. The Sigerson Cup is the trophy for the premier Gaelic football championship among Higher Education institutions (Universities, Colleges and Institutes of Technology) in Ireland. It traditionally begins in mid January and ends in late February. Peter Canavan
Peter Canavan (born 9 April 1971) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer, manager and pundit. He played inter-county football for Tyrone, and is one of the most decorated players in the game's history, winning two All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals, six All Stars Awards (more than any other Ulster player, and joint third overall), four provincial titles, and two National Leagues and several under-age and club championship medals. Dara Ó Cinnéide
Dara Ó Cinnéide (born 25 April 1975 in Dublin) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for his local club An Ghaeltacht and at senior level for the Kerry county team from 1995 until 2005. Ó Cinnéide captained Kerry to the All-Ireland title in 2004. Biography Dara Ó Cinnéide was born in Dublin in 1975, but grew up near An Daingean, County Kerry. A native Irish-speaker, he was educated at the local national school and later attended Dingle CBS. Munster Junior Football Championship
The Munster Junior Football Championship is a gaelic football tournament between the six counties of Munster: Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Clare and Waterford. It is the third-tier county teams playing off in a single-elimination tournament with 2 quarter finals instead of 4 (as of 2014). The cup was first given to the winners in 1957. All-Ireland Junior Football Championship
The All-Ireland Junior Football Championship is a GAA competition involving four Junior Gaelic football inter-county teams. Prior to a change in competition structure in 2021, the competition was previously for all Junior Gaelic football inter-county teams in Ireland. In this previous format, the definition of what constituted a Junior player differed from county to county. In some, the junior team was the second team after the senior team. This meant that any players who had not played with the senior team could play with the junior team. In others, such as Cork and Kerry, players could only be chosen from clubs that played in junior or intermediate grades. These counties could not choose players from senior clubs, even if they were not on the senior county team. When a team won this championship, it had to pick a new team for the following year.
