Daniel Kenneth Doran (April 25, 1966 - February 13, 2017) was an American former competitive figure skater. He won gold at the 1985 Karl Schäfer Memorial and 1986 St. Ivel International, two Skate America medals, and two U.S. national medals. He placed in the top ten at the 1986 and 1989 World Championships. Figure Skater
Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform on figure skates on ice. It was the first winter sport to be included in the Olympic Games, when contested at the 1908 Olympics in London. The Olympic disciplines are men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance; the four individual disciplines are also combined into a team event, first included in the Winter Olympics in 2014. Skate America is an international, senior-level figure skating competition held as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. It is hosted by U.S. Figure Skating. The location changes yearly. Medals are awarded in four disciplines: men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The 1986 World Figure Skating Championships were held in Geneva, Switzerland from March 18 to 23.
