Helen Gibson (born Rose August Wegner; August 27, 1892 – October 10, 1977) was an American film actress, vaudeville performer, radio performer, film producer, trick rider, and rodeo performer; and is considered to be the first American professional stunt woman.Truitt, 1984. Rodeo riding She was born Rose August Wenger in Cleveland, Ohio, one of five girls to Swiss-German parents, Fred and Annie Wegner. Her father had wanted a son, and encouraged her to be a tomboy. Helen saw her first Wild West show in Cleveland in the summer of 1909 and answered a Miller Brothers 101 Ranch ad for girl riders in ''Billboard'' magazine. They taught her to ride, and she performed in her first 101 Ranch Real Wild West Show in St. Louis in April 1910. ''Danger Ahead'' is a 1923 American silent crime drama film directed by William K. Howard and starring Richard Talmadge, Helene Rosson, and J.P. Lockney. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Bruce Randall fights with Mortimer when he finds him trying to rob his home, and Randall is injured and wanders away, losing all memory of his past. He is reported as being dead and falls into the hands of two unscrupulous lawyers. They induce him to impersonate Bruce Randall (himself) in order to obtain some pearls. Mrs. Randall accepts him as being her husband. Later his memory is restored and the swindlers defeated, with husband and wife reunited. Keene Thompson (born November 15, 1885 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, died July 11, 1937 in Hollywood, California) was a story, scenario and screenwriter who worked in the film industry from 1920 to 1937. Career Thompson had a small acting role in the 1917 Douglas Fairbanks Sr. film '' Reaching for the Moon'', but his first writing work was a screenplay for Fairbanks. His last was scripting the Jack Benny musical ''Artists and Models''. Some of his early silent film work was for the Christie Film Company, but his later screenwriting was associated primarily with Paramount Pictures where he became a general story advisor. At Paramount he was known for his work with Adolphe Menjou, and had written scripts and special materials for such stars as Raymond Griffith, Gary Cooper and Clara Bow, such as Clarence G. ''Danger Ahead'' is a 1935 American crime drama film directed by Albert Herman, produced and released by Victory Pictures Corporation. Plot Captain Matthews is paid $40,000 for a silk shipment from China. The Green Eagle Café owner has the captain called away for a phone call but is robbed of the money. Local reporter sees the robbery and after a fist fight gets the money back. He runs into the local delicatessen and hides the money.
