Dan John Miller is an American singer-songwriter and actor from Detroit, Michigan. He is currently the guitarist and lead vocalist for the gothic country-garage band Blanche (band), Blanche. He made his major film acting debut in the film ''Walk The Line'', playing Johnny Cash's guitar player Luther Perkins. Biography Career Miller's musical career began in the 1990s, fronting the country-punk band Goober & The Peas, whom ''The Austin Chronicle'' called "the most exciting live band in America" after playing South By Southwest. The band toured with such bands as Uncle Tupelo and Morphine (band), Morphine, and released two albums. Daniel Miller (born May 30, 1942) is an American politician from the state of Florida. A Republican, he represented the state and its 13th district in the House of Representatives for ten years. Early life and career Miller was born in Highland Park, Michigan, but moved to Florida during his childhood and graduated from Manatee High School in Bradenton, Florida, in 1960. He was an undergraduate at the University of Florida, Gainesville, and received his MBA from Emory University. He then got his Ph.D. and served as a professor at several colleges across the South. Dan Miller (born October 3, 1967) is an American musician and songwriter. He has toured and recorded with the Brooklyn-based alternative rock band They Might Be Giants since late 1998. Generally, Miller plays guitars for the band. Prior to joining TMBG, he performed with the groups Edith O and Lincoln. Having left Lincoln for personal reasons in 1998, he was contacted by John Flansburgh, who offered him a spot as lead guitarist for They Might Be Giants' Fall 1998 tour. He has also toured with John Flansburgh as Mono Puff's guitarist in the late 1990s, and played on bandmate John Linnell's '' State Songs'' tour. Miller was a longtime news anchorman for WSMV (formerly WSM-TV) in Nashville, Tennessee. Beginning his tenure there as a weathercaster in 1969, he moved to the news anchor desk in 1970. ''Top Card'' is a game show that aired on TNN and produced by Reid-Land Productions, replacing TNN's original game show ''Fandango''. The show aired from April 3, 1989 to March 26, 1993 and was based on the card game Blackjack. Jim Caldwell was the original host of ''Top Card'', with Blake Pickett serving as his hostess. The two remained until the beginning of the series' third season in 1991 and were replaced by Dan Miller and Paige Brown.
