Dan Hegarty
Dan Hegarty is an Irish radio presenter employed by RTÉ. He presents his show ''The Alternative'' on RTÉ 2fm Monday to Thursday from 10:00 pm – 12:00am (the show is broadcast live each morning on RTÉ 2XM at 10am to 1pm). He is regularly dispatched to important musical events such as the Eurosonic Festival in The Netherlands, Electric Picnic and Oxegen for live broadcasting purposes, as well as being sent around the country to present the 2fm 2moro 2our. In 2008 Hegarty featured on the panel of judges for the Choice Music Prize and was sent to The Music Show to distribute advice. Early life Hegarty is originally from Sandymount, Dublin. 2010 Meteor Awards
The 2010 Meteor Music Awards ceremony took place on Friday 19 February 2010 in Dublin. They were presented by Amanda Byram. The launch took place in La Stampa on 7 January 2010, and was attended by The Coronas and Danny O'Donoghue from The Script. Bell X1, Christy Moore, Florence and the Machine and U2 each received three nominations. U2 received no awards to the surprise of The Coronas and The Script who beat them in two of the three categories. Westlife won Best Irish Pop Act for the tenth consecutive year. The list of performing artists on the night included international acts such as Dizzee Rascal, Pixie Lott, Paolo Nutini, The Script, The Temper Trap and Westlife. The 2009 Meteor Music Awards ceremony took place on 17 March 2009 in the Royal Dublin Society, RDS, Dublin. It was the ninth edition of Republic of Ireland, Ireland's national music awards. Jenny Huston
Jenny Huston (born 24 August 1973) is a Canadian presenter of radio and television in Ireland. She was disc jockey on RTÉ 2fm, an occasional presenter on RTÉ Radio 1 and a television presenter with channels operated by Raidió Teilifís Éireann.; Huston presents an indie rock and pop music show on Friday nights and a rock anthems show which is broadcast on Sunday nights. A highlight of her television career was co-hosting RTÉ's Electric Picnic coverage with Tom Dunne in 2006. In July 2006, Huston fronted RTÉ 2fm's coverage of Oxegen that summer. Cormac Battle
Cormac Battle (born 11 July 1972) is an Irish musician and radio presenter/producer. He is the vocalist and lead guitarist for the bands Kerbdog, Wilt, Jonny's Boys, and On the turn. He is also the current presenter of RTÉ 2fm's alternative music programme, ''The Battle Axe''. Early life Battle was brought up in Kilkenny, Ireland, having moved from Bromley, UK at an early age. TXFM
TXFM (formerly Phantom 105.2) was a Dublin based radio station, founded in 1997 as a pirate radio station. TXFM broadcast under a contract awarded by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI). The station ceased broadcasting on 26 October 2016. TXFM played mostly alternative rock with an emphasis on local artists, as well as alternative dance and hip-hop from local and international acts. Apart from general programming TXFM also has run many specialist shows dedicated to a specific genre of rock or to premiering new Irish and international acts.
