Dan Gordon (Scottish Footballer)
Daniel Gordon (7 January 1881 – 1958) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a full-back for various clubs in the early years of the 20th century. Football career Gordon was born in West Calder (then in Midlothian) and started his professional career with local side Broxburn before moving to England in April 1903 to join Everton. Gordon was unable to break into Everton's first-team and, after a year of reserve team football, he moved to the south coast in the 1904 close season to join Southern League champions, Southampton. At The Dell, Gordon was understudy to England international George Molyneux. Described as "''a capable fullback with the physique of a blacksmith''", he had a "''deceptive burst of speed''" which helped the Saints reserves win the Hampshire Senior Cup in 1905. Dan Gordon (Gaelic Footballer)
Dan Gordon is a Gaelic footballer from County Down. He plays for the Down senior inter-county football team and with his local club Loughinisland. He briefly retired from the Down team in 2010 but returned at the start of the 2010 season. Dan made his first championship start in 2002 where Down played Donegal. He started at full back in the 2010 All-Ireland Football Final where Down were defeated 0-15 to 0-16 by Cork. Dan Gordon (actor)
Dan Gordon (born 1961) is an actor, director and playwright from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Early life Gordon was born in Belfast in 1961, the son of David, a shipyard worker, and Irene. He was educated at Sydenham Infants and Strand Primary (later renamed Victoria Primary) and Sullivan Upper School in Holywood where he developed his interest in acting. He trained as a teacher at Stranmillis University College where he read English and Drama. Gordon left teaching and worked part-time at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast. Career He is best known in Northern Ireland for his portrayal of Red Hand Luke in the BBC Northern Ireland sitcom Give My Head Peace. He starred in the Marie Jones monodrama A Night in November in the Tricycle theatre in London and again in the Lyric Theatre in Belfast. Daniel Campbell Gordon (July 13, 1902 – August 13, 1970) was an American storyboard artist and film director, best known for his work at Famous Studios and Hanna-Barbera Productions. Gordon was one of Famous' first directors. He wrote and directed several ''Popeye the Sailor'' and '' Superman'' cartoons. Later, at Hanna-Barbera, Gordon worked on several cartoons featuring Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, and others. His younger brother, George Gordon, also worked for Hanna-Barbera. In the late 1940s, talking animals and teen humor were two of the most popular categories in the ever-growing world of comic books. ''Charmed'' is an American television series that was originally broadcast by The WB for eight seasons from October 7, 1998, until May 21, 2006. Gordon Biersch Brewery is an American brewery founded by Dan Gordon and Dean Biersch. Gordon, a graduate from the five-year brewing engineering program at Weihenstephan, Germany, and Biersch opened their first brewery restaurant in Palo Alto, California, in July 1988. In 1999, the restaurants were sold to what ultimately became CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries. In November 1995, the two founders and their original investors, wanting to expand their then $20 million business, accepted a $11.2 million investment from the Fertitta family of Las Vegas. Lorenzo Fertitta became the controlling owner. , Gordon Biersch brews beer for Costco and Trader Joe's under contract. The Mayor of Waimakariri is the head of the municipal government of Waimakariri District in New Zealand's South Island. The mayor is directly elected using a First-past-the-post voting, first-past-the-post electoral system. The current mayor is Dan Gordon (mayor), Dan Gordon. History Waimakariri District was established as part of the 1989 local government reforms. It was formed from Rangiora District, Kaiapoi Borough, Oxford County, New Zealand, Oxford County, Eyre County (based on Ohoka) and part of Hurunui County – although Rangiora District and Eyre County had already amalgamated earlier that year. The first mayor, Trevor Inch, had been Mayor of Rangiora since 1986. He died shortly after resigning on health grounds in 1995. He was succeeded by Janice Skurr, who was in office 1995–2001.
