Damián Alberto Martínez is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Atlético Tucumán in the Argentine Primera División. Career Club Martínez started his career with San Lorenzo in 2009, making his professional debut on 3 April in an Argentine Primera División match with Arsenal de Sarandí. That was one of nine appearances for San Lorenzo between 2009 and 2010. In 2011, Martínez was loaned out to Independiente Rivadavia of Primera B Nacional. He remained for two seasons, 2010–11 and 2011–12, and scored one goal (versus Boca Unidos) in thirty-two matches. He returned to San Lorenzo in 2012 and subsequently made two more appearances, prior to leaving permanently to sign for Primera B Nacional's Aldosivi in 2013. He scored in his first start for Aldosivi, in a 2–2 tie with Independiente on 17 August 2013. In total, Martínez featured thirty-three times for Aldosivi throughout the 2013–14 campaign. A total of 20 teams competed in two championships —the Apertura and Clausura— over the course of the season, which started on 6 August 2010 and ended on 30 June 2011, one day prior to the start of the 2011 Copa América, held in Argentina. The 2008-09 Primera División season was the 118th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina and the nineteenth season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. Boca Juniors won the Apertura championship for their 29th national title after a three team playoff with Tigre and San Lorenzo. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana, also known as Copa Sudamericana (; ), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL, the governing body of football in South America, since 2002. It is the second-most prestigious club competition in South American football. CONCACAF clubs were invited between 2004 and 2008. The 2007 South American Under-17 Football Championship was played in Ecuador from 4 to 25 March 2007.
